VHS : Baby It's You [1994]
This video, comprising of a series of programmes allows viewing in short bursts, and follows the development of an infant from the earliest days to the beginnings of independance. However, if you have the slightest interest in how children learn & develop you will probably want to indulge in the whole story in one sitting as it is emminently watchable. The filming is beautiful and the underlying psychological theories of development are carefully entwined, making this not only an informative video for any parent but also a useful tool for any student of early years development / nursery care or education, allowing them to see theory in action. The commentary is clear, well pitched and to the point. Highly recommended.

I expected a lot from this video and I am disappointed : there are a lot of great shots from Pay-per-view TV, but this video is messy ! First you have the race, then highlights of the race, then highlights of the qualifications... I would have prefered a chronological order, and to see all shots at the same moment, not 1 time during the race, then another time after the race...
This video stays quite good, but it could have been really better.

VHS : Sing and Sign (Baby Signing the Fun Way)
Excellent resource for those who want to start baby signing. Is great to sit down with your child to learn the signs (instruction booklet also enclosed) Loved the fact it was all based on British signing, (rather than American) Have found baby signing invaluable!!! It is wonderful for your 7/8mth child to 'tell' you what is happening in their world. (i.e seeing a plane, hearing a dog etc.) They can let you know if they want to eat/drink etc. My 3yr old now has an excellent vocabulary, and my 17mth There are many words which are clear, and others he still signs (it helps understand the baby babble!!) Along with the animal signs, sorry, please, more and all gone are the most popular. Can't recommend this highly enough. A must for all mums ... Read More:

This is a truly superb video. The sequence on the Big Bang makes compulsive viewing and corrects many of the popular misconceptions about the theory. The narration is superb and the calibre of expert witness is excellent- well done channel 4! This series is far superior to the more widely available (BBC)'Space' which is dull in comparison. Just a shame we can't buy it on DVD.

A really excellent 2 video box set covering the diverse habitats of the african continent. Visually pleasing and very informative, the photography and narration compliment each other perfectly to bring africa into your living room. I would recommend this video set to anyone with an interest in wildlife.
The only dissapointment to this this suberb BBC production.......
No DVD!
