VHS : Title Fireman Sam's Telly Trouble (plus 6 more fantastic stories)
Fireman Sam videos are the best thing since sliced bread in my house. This one is great, the only problem with it is that it repeats a chapter from another Sam Video (Bumper Video - Deep trouble for Sam).

Other than that, it is wonderful for young children, who are attracted by the bright colours and loud siren from Jupiter the Fire Engine. Kids can enjoy it at it's simplest level, while adults can appreciate the humour as well - even after the 50th time of viewing...

Great entertainment, with the underlying moral tone (Norman ALWAYS gets his just desserts) that kids seems to love - and just enough characters to keep it interesting without turning little minds off because it's too complicated.

Perfect if you want ... Read More:

VHS : Harry Enfield's Television Programme - The Best Of Series One [1990]
Classic comedy from the talent of Harry Enfield whose characters captured the absolute essence of the 90s; more than ably assisted by Paul Whitehouse & Kathy Burke.

I wish the BBC would release the full series on DVD (& the 2nd series too), but it doesn't look like it will do anytime soon unfortunately. This video is reason enough then to keep the old VCR going!

VHS : Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Season 5 (Box Set 2) [1998]
Because "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" was a mid-season replacement on the WB there were only 12 episodes that first season instead of the full slate of 22. That meant when the show ended its fifth and final season on the WB the last episode would be number 100 for the series and since the fate of the show was uncertain, creator Joss Whedon had to make sure that if "Buffy" did not find a new home that there would be a big finish. That he certainly provided, but as I watched the second half of Season Five (Episodes 12-22) again, what struck me is how many of the best moments have to do with Spike. Specifically I am thinking of when Spike tells the "Buffybot" why he would not betray Buffy and a couple of moments in the final episode: when Willow tells Spike ... Read More:

VHS : Doctor Who - Planet Of Fire [1984]
With over 150 stories broadcast, opinion is often divided as to which are the best and worst Doctor Who stories. Ofcourse the usual level of consensus, will see Caves of Androzani, somewhere near the top, and Timelash,Time Flight, and Time And The Rani, at the opposite end. But then in the middle you get stories such as Seeds of Death, Ambassadors of Death, and The Planet of Fire, which people seem to give less attention too, they are simply seen as ok. I think Planet of Fire perhaps deserves a little more recognition. In the documentary accompanying The Leisure Hive, reference is made to the producer John Nathan Turner favouring style over storyline, certainly in Planet of Fire, the fantastic location of Lanzorate, does help distract from a rather weak storyline. ... Accidental Empires (later made into a great TV production called: Triumph of the Nerds) is an eye opening view of the personal computer revolution and the who made it happen from an inside writer who knew the individuals.

Robert Cringley does an exceptionally thorough job of providing a bird's eye view of the personalities, motivations, business environment and savvy of the nerds who changed the world.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the entire book. One of the parts that sticks out in my mind is about how the personal computer revolution happened so quickly. Cringley points out that the personal computer industry was totally different than any other industry. The participants shared their friendships, work, and knowledge freely. This "free ...
