VHS : The Famous Five - Five Go To Billycock Hill - Parts 1 and 2
This episode in series two of the Famous Five adventures on video is among the best in the series. The Five go camping on Billycock Hill which is near an airfield and a Butterfly farm, which of course make for another exciting adventure! Also involved are Julian and Dick's friend Toby, who loves playing tricks, and his cousin Jeff Thomas, who is accused of stelaing a plane in the middle of the night. You will enjoy this video as much as the book it was adapted from and it is lovely to watch again and again for all ages.

VHS : The Plank [1967]
'The Plank' is an absolute classic, funny, hilarious. I have watched it umpteen times and I still find myself lying on the floor, laughing my butts off when I watch it again. I like to show it to my students in English lesson to demonstrate 'British humour', and then I sit in my corner finding it ravingly funny. My (German) students are mostly mildly interested. 'The Plank' obviously is British humour that does not offer its virtues to German teenagers at once. At least I had an enjoyable lesson, ain't that important ? I am now ordering a new copy since my old one is wearing out.

VHS : The Best Bits Of Mr. Bean
I loved watching mr. bean which i could find sometimes on HBO when i was growing up in the US. I especially loved him and his teddy, and whenever he planned anything that never went right.
I problem i have is that i've only found copies of this on U.S. Reg. 1 DVDs, does this even come on UK formats. I actually think I have another region coding when i bought it online somewhere because it doesn't play on my US DVD, so i think maybe its another region coding, but now i don't know what to do with the copy i have, if anyone is looking for it, i'd be glad to give it to you, since maybe you could play it and enjoy it.

Personally I think these two stories are long overdue for DVD release. Whilst the earlier reviewer's comments about the quality of the stories are mostly true, I think that they're missing the point - as with much late sixties and early seventies 'Who' there IS a lot of padding, however, there is also a decent amount of dialogue, and interplay between the characters that is generally missing in today's high-speed, action-oriented Doctor Who.
The (mostly) Earthbound Doctor and his UNIT colleagues have formed a tight-knit group by this stage in the series, and there is some particularly amusing badinage between The Doctor and The Brigadier and the latter and Sergeant Benton in `The Time Monster'. In one memorable scene The Brig sneers at ... Read More:

VHS : Pingu - The Biggest Video Ever
My son is coming up to 2 years old now and his attention span is very short. We bought this video at Christmas and everytime he watches it, it holds his attention all the way through without fail! Surprisingly, my husband and I also find it very amusing, (which we weren't expecting for a children's video) but Pingu is such an engaging little character!

VHS : Doctor Who - Invasion Of The Dinosaurs [1973] (Tv-Series)
Yes, this is a fantastic serial. I actually enjoyed it more than 'Terror of the Autons' or 'Day of the Daleks'. IMO the only real clunker of Jon Pertwee's final season was 'Monster of Peladon'.

The dinosaur's are obviously fake like many of the old creatures and like much of modern day CGI work. That doesn't get in the way of the story or action; and personally I think they are more effective in colour than and black and white.

Hopefully soon the first episode will be restored to colour and the whole thing released on DVD.

VHS : Watch With Mother - The Very Best Of Watch With Mother
Watching this video with my three year old daughter was wonderful. It brought back memories for me, and my daughters reaction was a delight to see. Good childrens T.V is timeless as is this video, the best parts being Bill and Ben, The Woodentops, Andy Pandy and Camberwick Green, though perhaps Muffin the Mule is just too dated. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is the lack of any follow up to this, there was no "Best of..." Videos to follow on of my Daughters Favorites, and mine for that matter, and the fact that Muffin the Mule was just too dated. However, from this day on the phrase " Little Weed, Weeeeeed " will bring an instant beeming smile to yet another child. A must buy for any parent over 35 with young children.

190.The Famous Five - Five Get Into A Fix / Five Go Off In A Caravan starring: John Altman (II), Tom Graham, Patrick Romer, Nick Brimble, Murray McArthur

VHS : The Famous Five - Five Get Into A Fix / Five Go Off In A Caravan
Five Get Into a Fix is wonderfully acted by the four children and suitably sinister. There is nothing really disturbing in it but there is suspense and excitement. Mrs. Thomas is sensitively portrayed and the whole thing is faithful to the book.

Five Go Off in a Caravan is a little less faithful to the book - possibly due in part to the cast on Julian's leg! Presumably the actor broke his leg during filming? However, it is well dealt with and does not really detract from the storyline. Nobby is well played and Lou and Tiger Dan are suitably nasty characters. This is amusing, exciting, with one or two slight tear-jerking moments.

All in all, the video is definitely worth buying if you are a Famous Five fan.
