VHS : Doctor Who The Face of Evil [1963]
1: Tom Baker is excellent as the deranged Xoanon

2: Louise makes a brilliant entrance as Leela

3: The horda are cute.

4: The tesh are gits, but likeable ones, with their arm flapping!

5: Tom is great as ever as the Doc too.

6: The tribe have more developed characters than usual.

7: Great comic moments, especially how Leela runs into the TARDIS despite the Doc not really wanting to take her.

8: We for once get a sizeable chunk of story to see whats happened after the enemy has been thwarted, which is a nice change.

9: the staue looks impressive.

10: Good actual 25 min eps for a change!

Need I go on?

VHS : Do I Not Like That - The Final Chapter
The most hilariously funny documentary you will ever see!
At first you will think it is a comedy voice over spoof as this cross between Alan Partridge and David Brent bumbles his way to inevitable failure shadowed by the yes men of Phil Neal and Laurie Mcmenemy, echoing his every word parrot fashion for extra comic effect. Add the chuckle brothers (Paul "Gazza" Gascoigne and Carlton "what you doing playing for England" Palmer) and what you have here is pure comedy gold. You will cry with laughter, gasping for breath unable to believe this is real!. The video will be the prize of your collection and you will make all your friends watch it and they will thank you for this is comedy gold. Ricky Gervais could not write a better script, again THIS ... Read More:

VHS : Bambi [Disney 1942]
Designed in the Disney hay-day of great movies like "Fantasia" and "Song of the South" this shows what animation and great music was and could be now with a little effort.

The story which is a little easer to take than the book chronicles the life of a young prince "Bambi" his friends and how he grew and matured. He passes through many rights of passage and takes his place in the forest society.

The down side of the story is the demise of Bambi's mother which though innovative for the time traumatized many children. To this day you hear it is a classic but I can not bring my self to watch it. How ever this presentation is more of a symphony based on the characters from the story in the Disney tradition.

I have worked through the 10 minute miracle at the beginning of this tape so many times that I have worn it out! It is a really good toning routine that can be used on a daily basis and fitted in to a really busy day. It made me feel very relaxed and 'loosened up'. I recommend this. I only wish it was available in DVD then it wouldn't wear out!

VHS : Doctor Who - The Deadly Assassin [1976]
This is an excellent adventure written by Robert Holmes, probably the best script writer the show ever had, and who wrote some of my favourite episodes including this, plus 'Spearhead From Space', 'The Ark In Space', 'The Talons Of Weng Chiang' and 'The Caves Of Androzani'.

The Galifrey set is looking a bit dated now, but it also looked quite low-tech in 1976 as well. What really makes this a special episode for me, is the brilliant plot, plus the Doctor going through the Matrix. The Matrix is an hallaguenic dream sequence with the Doctor facing imaginary threats from the Master, plus also being chased by a Bounty Hunter. The threat scenarios are very imaginative, for example: being shot at by a WW1 fighter plane, getting trapped on a railway ... Read More:

Great story line, much less grand in scope than the more modern Disney films but with tons of character. The songs dont suffer from the treacle sweetness of recent attempts either. Its one of my favourites!

VHS : The Good Life - Series 4 - Episodes 5 To 7 - Plus The Royal Special
This video includes Suit Yourself, Sweet and Sour Charity, Anniversary, and the Royal Command Performance (also called When I'm 64).

The first three episodes listed are from the final series and are some of the best shows. Suit Yourself has Tom and Barbara turning fleeces into clothing (or something like clothing) and Jerry competing furiously for Sir's job. Sweet and Sour Charity features Margo deciding whether to take the lead role in the Music Society's production of Sweet Charity, a play she detests, or to stick to her principles and sit it out. Meanwhile, Tom and Barbara debate over whether to take the leftover heating oil from next door. In Anniversary, Sir has decided who will replace him when he retires. Will it be Jerry or the loathesome ... Read More:
