VHS : Cinema Paradiso [1989]
I loved this film (Director's cut) version. Most of the positives I should agree with in other comments. It may be too long for the typical cinema audience, but I should certainly recommend it to anyone who loves a film with depth, humour, love and a touch of life philosophy.

The Rainbow is a really great story of a young girl called Ursula who has a brief affair first with her school teacher and then a passionate affair with anton, a young soldier, who she becomes engaged to.
Ursula finds that the prospect of being married to anton to restricting and she sets out on her own to experience life.
Paul Mcgann is great in this movie, some of his best work, he's perfect as the handsome young soldier.
This movie is definetly worth a watch.

VHS : 3 x 3 Eyes - Part 5
This is overall a great series, one of the best I have ever seen in the fantasy/horror genre of Japanese animation, I am writing this review because the other reviewers I have read on this website say that they feel the earlier episodes are the best of the series, but I feel they are all equally engrossing in plot and action, the latter maybe more so in the later episodes. While the first part is fast-paced and brilliantly introduces the main characters. The later half however, exhibits excellent character development and throws an interesting plot twist into the epic saga of a demon girl's quest to become human. While in the earlier episodes, it is Pai who is always having to protect the clumsy and almost-helpless Yakumo, with their separation ... Read More:

VHS : 3 x 3 Eyes - Part 2
I watched the first after purchasing it years ago, and I really liked it. The action, the confusing in-depth storyline, the characters, I loved it all. I recently made a descision to get the rest. And this second part is great. Very funny in parts, especially with the dubbing.., has great ways of killing the main character. Very funny, quite violent, and continues well with the story. If you liked the first, get the second baby.

VHS : The Horseman On The Roof [1996]
This is a chase movie. It opens in the 1830s in Aix-en-Provence with the town en fête, Italian nationalists are in exile there plotting a return to oppose Austrian rule of Italy. An Austrian special forces team is sent to clip them. For all they drive in a coach and use flintlock pistols they are recognisably brothers under the skin with assassins from any modern movie, aided by their otherness (they speak in German). One Italian is executed but the second (a colonel of hussars and our hero) escapes and the chase is on. It is a chase across a world that has long gone, as if Flashman were pursued through Hardy country. The farming communities are beautifully observed; one can feel the heat of the harvest fields, one joins the communal tables, I can ... Read More:

VHS : The Devils [1971]
This movie is no easier to sit through than it was when it was first released. It's a graphic, grim, horrific look at the confusion, superstition and religious frenzy that took place in a small French province during the reign of Louis XIII, when Cardinal Richelieu reigned supreme and "the Inquisition" had made its way from Spain. The Huxley novel and Whiting play from which it was adapted are well worth looking into, as both do more than adequate jobs at telling the same story.

I believe this was Russell's finest effort, his perfect medium. It is a subject that calls for histrionic direction, of which Ken is the exemplar. He turned his actors and technicians loose and the result is emotional and graphic overload, but (and this is an exception ... Read More:

Well, that's my second favorite Bunuel's film (first - "Bourgeoisie"). It's one of the best from the great artist's French period. When you watch it, it takes you completely in, you don't see anything else around you. I even didn't realize that the main female character is played by two different persons, who are absolutely different when compared. It's a must-see for every educated person.

VHS : Lisztomania [1975]
As a film, this is totally brilliant. But why did Rick Wakeman, a professional musician and composer, choose to drag the beautiful music of Wagner and Liszt into a teenybopper cesspit?

Ken Russell has captured well the relationship between the two composers but has reinforced the negative attitudes of Wagner's music against Liszt's almost-saintly masterpieces. If you are a fan of Liszt and/or Wagner, the film is worth watching for Russell's incredible talent and interpretation of 19th century show-biz ethos.

VHS : Ultimate Sex For Gay Men
This is a great video for all those homosexuals out there. My partner and I found great comfort in finding other men with these problems and it certainly helps one's confidence. I would recommend it to all those out there who are looking for a good time.
