To start with I am not "a gamer", I bought this as a sort of media centre with the games as a of bonus. In the games dept it is pretty good, great graphics, sound even on a std TV. However there are a no of things I just expected this box to do which it either doesn't do at all or doesn't do very well. The reasonably large 60GB hard drive is next to useless at present because it is impossible to store anything other than XBL downloads (mostly trash trailers and demos) and music you rip directly from the DVD drive. (I've since heard that the next console upgrade will allow copying games to disk). You cannot transfer any files to or from the XBOX, even to your PC running an MS OS. don't get me wrong xbox live is essential and great fun. But ea games do not work if you are under 18.Yet the biggest problem is its £40.00. Playstation 3 online services (playstation network) is free and so is wii. wii is inferior to xbox in online play but ps3 is the same quality online yet free. So why do 360 owners have to pay? A COMPLETE RIP OFF!

Well i myself have an 360 and i just adore it, with its large number of games on the market and excellent array of online features, this is truly a gamers console. Im not a fanboy slating the other consoles as i do own a wii aswell and i love that machine too. This entry level xbox is the cheapest availible as it doesnt contain a hard drive, but you do get 256mb pak for your save data and is basically all you need if your not a download fanatic, like for casual gamers who only own a few titles will get plenty of mileage out of the small memory pak. However if your more of a hardcore gamer i suggest you look into the next level xbox with the 60gb hard drive, as Halo 3 players for instance will need a hard drive for download ... Read More:

If you CAN put your Xbox360 near to your wireless router and run a cable then you SHOULD. Wireless is NEVER faster than a cable. However, if like me, this is not possible then you must have a bridge. After all, why have an Xbox360 if you are not going to play online? It is very, very easy to set up and install as long as you have the information that you need about logging into your router. My own wireless bridge took literally 5 minutes to install. My work colleague asked me to do his for him and it took over 2 hrs, mainly because his router had a security setting on it which meant that you had to manually type in the 'code' of the machine trying to access the router. The controller itself is very good, a far better fit for my hands than Playstation's design, and the analogue sticks are better because the bowl shape cups your thumbtips. However, I prefer the shoulder buttons on the PS3 controller and the D-pad on this one is near-useless. It's the best choice for a modern PC gamer though, due to its instant compatibility with any Games for Windows branded game, and the third-party software "xpadder" makes it easy to get it working for any other game too, making it as close to the definition of 'plug and play' as any controller. I've purchased the 60GB XBOX 360 today, mainly because of the exclusive games like DOA4 and HALO3 that aren't available for my PS3. Since long ago I've been waiting to finally purchase this console and now that the RROD issue is fixed I've thought this was the right time. Actually not everything is OK, since the new controller was a major let down! This controller is a piece of cheap plastic and the d-pad is totally unreliable. The original XBOX controller S was way better than this one. There is also the huge noise that comes out of the box when a disc is inserted, and believe me when I say that it can cause a headache. This is just stuiped i mean i havent got an xbox360 but ive read the reviews and i got a ps3.the ps3 has got brillant graphics,blue ray dvd 60gb memory and has some good games and it dosent brake down.Iknow that the ps3 is pricey but by the time you have spent all that money on the xbox360 and all its accsesories to make it work for about 6 months it equels the price of a ps3, also the ps3 has got free internet.

Just a quick note to let everyone know that Falcon chipsets still havent fixed the RROD error, nor the disc scratching DVD drives. The reason for the price drops is the cost of components dropped and a new updated version of the 360 is being built and should be released some time after Christmas (I hope). My Falcon 360 has now been sent back for repairs for the 2nd time, and has scratched the living hell out of my Oblivion GOTY Edition along with causing another RROD error. The console is also still as noisy as before. If it breaks one more time I'll have to get my Xbox 1 out of the dust once again and claim insurance for the 360.
