Ulltra Vortek is a great antidote for those depressed by the lackluster "Kasumi Ninja." Taking the style of a side-scrolling fighter, Vortek has several great characters, stunning backdrops, and an attention to detail that unfortunately didn't quite make it to the combat system. Still, it holds its own against any platform 2D fighter because of its uniqueness. Starting with a well-rendered, evil-looking demon known as "The Guardian" who holds you and your opponent in his huge, clawed hands, you get to choose between about eight characters. The Jaguar itself was a great machine, it had 3 maybe 4 top titles, however it also had 10 or more dire games. This game along with Tempest 2000 was by far the best. If you've played Halo or Quake 3 you'll see the origins and beginnings here. The Jaguar delivered high speed (compared to other consoles) 64-bit graphics and top sound. The speed of movement and reaction time of your character were great, enabling you to dodge and weave against enemy fire. The game had no music which in my opinion set the atmosphere. If you listened carefully you could hear the hellspawn breathing and moving around corners. The Artificial intelligence here is amazing. I still believe that this game has the best (bar none) bad guys ... Read More:

alien vs predator is simply the best jaguar game about. you can play as the marine, alien or the predator each with different missions. this is also the best version of the game that will have hiding behind your sofa. the game has many features and great game play. this is the most sought after jag game about and its also the rarest hence the price tag but will supply you with hours of chilling fun!

There are also interviews with Jeff "YAK" Minter and the programmer of Fight For Life for added interest. It's a shame that the book does not include the full roster of games originally advertised as none of the CD titles or later games (Ultravortek, Defender 2000, Missle Command 3d etc) are present.
