Race Driver: GRID (PS3) Race Driver: GRID (PC DVD) I bought the game for its LAN Play capabilities, i.e. play between multiple PS3 machines on a local network, specifically for playing in a location with no Internet connetion. It turns out that you must have an Internet Connection and log in, in order to set up and play a local game.

Dear all, Just a quick review... Recently, I finished playing Dirt, Career Mode. After 6 months, I managed to win all the tracks in the hardest difficulty of all, "Pro" Level. And let me tell you that this was one of the best games I played in my life. When you play it in PRO, not only you learn to avoid crashes (because the car wrecks), but most important: to know each and every track, in full detail. And what a pleasure this is, for driving game fans, like me. Each personal best is automatically published on-line, so, it's quite rewarding, with some luck and skills, to see times in the top 100, say, among 40.000 people. Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! A must buy... for the serious gamer to the "just play a quick race game" player. It is stunning... the graphics are breathtaking, you could actually be driving. The damage is so real that you just want more. I just could not stop playing the game. As for the demolition derby, well I almost passed out from laughter it generated... I must be the only demolition derby driver that destroyed his own car without hitting anyone else, useless or what. This is truly a fun game and extremely addictive. This is definitely a game to buy; have fun!!!!

LOTR Online is the first MMORG that hasn't constantly reminded me of the fact that I'm playing an MMORG: neither the monotonous gameplay or sub-par grahics found in other games of this genre are present here, mainly owing to the fact that Turbine have taken great pains to ensure that all the side quests provide an interesting and often involving sidestory to the main one. At times I've even forgetten I'm playing on-line at all, a sure sign in my eyes that this is a great game in its own right; not just because it's massively multiplayer. As you level you are also constantly aquiring new traits and titles, either gained from exploring certain areas of the map or killing a cetain number of mobs etc, all of which relieve the grind. I'm a little disappointed with Codemasters' decision to gradually dumb-down their once sim-orientated games. I understand they are in business and need maximise customers, but why can't we have sim options which can be turned on and off? If they're worried about marketing, they could bury these options in the manual - reviewers would still pick up on them. I remember the great TOCA on PS1, then gradually over the years the games have lost their sim edge. I also cannot stand the Americanism and constant guide voice from an American - this is nothing against America but it just seems so out of context. Graphics look very good in parts, especially cars, damage, and roadside scenery, but the framerate does suffer quite a bit. It will be interesting to see whether any developers ... Read More:

GRAPHICS: Ok, I had read all the reviews about needing a very high spec pc and although my pc isn't super duper I thought it would probably work ok like all my other high spec games. I bought my pc about 2 years ago, then it was very good, (7600gs 256mb, 500gb sata, 2gb ram, pentium 2 core duo). Now that is quite good I think. However at 1240 by 1024 at the lowest detail settings it still only gave about 4fps with a steering lag of about 1.5 seconds (my formula force ex steering wheel works perfectly with other games) i decided to turn the graphics down a notch or two. How anyone can say this games crap is beyond me. Clive Barkers Jericho is one of the best games I have played in ages. The story will keep you hooked from start to finish and its great the way you can change from character to character. I really hope they continue the story and bring out a second Jericho! All in all its everything you want from a game and more.

I would treat anything from Codemasters with caution! I live in the UK and played on the European servers. I bought the game from the shops and did everything above board. I have a standard broadband connection and dont even know how to do anything dodgy with computers! And so I was playing for several months and then was suddenly banned! Why? Because I had been logging on from multpile IP addresses!!!! This was the very reason they gave me! I queried Codemasters customer services and they repeatedly gave me the same answer without any further explanation! After a while, they just stopped returning my e-mails! I wasn't expecting this game to be that good as of some of the reviews on other game sites, however, it is terribly underated. The controls are really good once you have got the hang of them. The planes look great and the difference between each one in the handeling is very noticable. The graphics may not be great, but, the the sence of speed that you get is great especially when a plane passes you with metres to spare. I would highly recommend anyone with a wii to buy this game or at least look into it!

I`ve played rather a lot of driving games in my life. My favourites now are Gran Turisimo 5 -prologue (PS3), Colin McRea Dirt (Xbox360), and Mario kart for Wii and DS. Thats so far for my tastes in racing games, so the reader will know as to what I compare GRID with. GRID for the DS is the follow-up to RaceDriver: Create and Race. This first game was good, but had several bif flaws: the cars were too slow on the wheel, the cpu-opponents were all too difficult. And even though graphics were very good on the cars, the background was boring, flat, blocky, and one could hardely see far enough ahead to take curves smoothly (unless you learned the course perfectly).
