OK, first of all, I have never in the past had any time for RTS games, I loved the Total War turned based strategy type games (and still do). I thought that no other game would ever surpass Rome Total War for the excessive amount of time I spent on the game (my wife even called herself a 'Rome Widow'!) Until this little gem of a game. It is a, at first, slow burning strategy game, with a very intuitive interface (absolutely no need for the keyboard, everything can be accessed using the mouse), nice graphics and very clever AI (If you do not make alliances, you will be beaten!) This is a carbon copy of the old microprose "grand prix manager" cica 1995 but with new menus/icons. The graphics are poor and the game is very buggy. Avoid.

This game is the WW2 equivilant to Take commands, American civil wargame- 2nd manassas, which I consider to be the best and most realistic wargames so far released.Theatre of wars attention to detail is superb and the tank model detail is fantastic to say the least.Balistics and shell penetration are intelligently taken in to account, with a line of sight model which leaves other WW2 games I have played virtually blown out of the sky.Admitted it has a few faults ie-it crashes for no reason occasionally through gameplay,but this can be countered by consistent saving through the coarse of a mission,and anyway the total enjoyment I get from playing the game far outweighs this glitch.Thanks kalypso- can't wait for the north african add on,which i'm sure ... I have The Movies at home and I love it, but always a sucker for tycoon/sim type games I bought Hollywood Pictures 2. The game is awful and such a waste of money. There's no proper tutorial and the manual is unhelpful. The graphics are shoddy and gameplay's boring, though perhaps this was because I didn't have a clue what I was doing. If you're thinking of buying the game then consider The Movies instead, it'll be money better spent.
