Please don't be put off by any bad reviews of this game... we got the game for a tenner off Ebay and it has turned out to a fantastic bargain buy. Yes, I agree that it's definately not for serious golfers as it is very cartoony, but it is highly addictive. I bought it a week ago (a couple of days after getting as Mario Kart) and haven't put another game in the Wii since then (including the much awaited for Mario Kart!). The game can be a little girly with the clothes changes etc but it really doesn't take away from the gameplay (and the addition of certain items of clothing actually add to your stats and to the gameplay). Being a big fan of the original on the N64 i would have expected this to be amazing. Oh how i was wrong. The game is TERRIBLY slow. Character movement is sluggish at best and shot placement is non-existent. No matter how hard you try your character will tap the ball very slowly down the centre of the court and unless you're playing against a human player with awful reactions you will NEVER see an ace. Now the power shots... Had this been a quick paced game they might have got away with this ridiculous idea but they just prolong the agony of being stuck in a awful match you can't wait to finish. Amimations are stupidly long and just when you think you've won the last thing you want to see is the opposition SWIM down the court and hit the ball back ... Read More:

I've had Etrian Odyssey about a year now on US import. I have to confess to loving the game. Essentially the game is a first person RPG with random turn-based combat ala Final Fantasy / Dragon Quest. At its heart it is very traditional, you move through dungeons returning to town to heal and buy new goods. You control a team of five characters chosen from up to eight classes. These vary from the standard swordsman and mage to the more interesting Ronin and Hexer. Pokemon Trading Card game is good fun and quite a well-thought-out game. Once you get the hang of it it's actually great fun. However, there are a few bad things about it. The graphics are not very good even though it is only a GameBoy Color game and the gameplay is overall rather luck-based rather than skill. Other than this, a great game with at least 50 hours of game-time.
