Video Games : Advance Wars (GBA)
This is a great strategy game! it may look like its for kids with the cute little soldiers and the tanks but when you get to the gameplay it can be quite hard. There was lots of variety as some levels you were at sea whereas others you took to the skys. It also allowed you to earn bonuses so if you wanted to power your way in then you got bounus for being quick to finish...however if you wanted to be clever and plan a trap then you could go for different bonuses. I like turn based games and thought this was a great example!

Video Games : Expansion Pak (N64)
Donkey Kong 64 was the first game I bought which required the expansion, and it had a big impact - it was needed for the game to work. However, any notion that this has an impact on all games is not true! This pack is simply a memory upgrade, and does not in anyway improve the performance of games that 'dont' require it. Don't be fooled!

Video Games : Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising
Advance Wars 2 sounded like a good game so i bought it off amazon. I got it and was instantly chucked into a deep hole of addiction and compulsion. First off the friendly, no blood, cartoony graphics welcome you the advance wars world and the visual effects are simple but they do the job perfectly. Each C.O. (commanding officer) has their own soundtrack which is different to listening to the same old same old. The gun sounds and explosions are pretty sweet and there is even more music choice when you get a Super C.O. power of a normal C.O. power. Right now the best part of the game; the addictive gameplay. At first advance wars may seem steppy and quite difficult but once you have fought about 5 campaign battles you'll be soon on your way to ... Read More:

As pointed out in the other reviews, there is an improvement in picture quality. But it's so small, I'd defy anyone to notice, if they weren't told about it.

In fact, I've noticed that the picture actually suffers from colour bleed, if the main screen picture is mostly white, like the Wii menu, for instance. This can actually make any text more difficult to read. I had to do a fair bit of messing with the contrast & brightness to get something I liked. Then of course, it needs changing back to watch telly.

I found that in 480p mode the screen jittered, especially when viewing text. I had to compromise on 480i, which I can get with the standard cable.

Maybe it just doesn't agree with my telly, which admittedly ... Read More:

215.Nintendo DS Handheld Console from: Nintendo

Video Games : Nintendo DS Handheld Console
The Nintendo DS is no ordinary console. What on the face of it appears to be merely an upgraded Game Boy Advance is packed with a suite of never-before-seen features which make it unique within the gaming world.
The most obvious new feature is the two screens (DS stands for dual screen), the bottom of which is a touch screen. This makes an enormous difference to the way you play and interact with the game, as you use a stylus or the handy thumb strap to control the action.

The way this works in a game varies enormously, with first person shooter Metroid Prime: Hunters using the touch screen and D-pad to create a control system that's just as responsive as a PC keyboard and mouse. Other games, like Yoshi's Touch & Go, have you actually ... Read More:

Being a big fan of the original on the N64 i would have expected this to be amazing. Oh how i was wrong. The game is TERRIBLY slow. Character movement is sluggish at best and shot placement is non-existent. No matter how hard you try your character will tap the ball very slowly down the centre of the court and unless you're playing against a human player with awful reactions you will NEVER see an ace. Now the power shots... Had this been a quick paced game they might have got away with this ridiculous idea but they just prolong the agony of being stuck in a awful match you can't wait to finish. Amimations are stupidly long and just when you think you've won the last thing you want to see is the opposition SWIM down the court and hit the ball back and basically ... Read More:

Received today and boy what a great looking unit. The glossy piano red cover blends well with the matt black. Machine performs and works well.Comes with a U.S. charger and a U.K. adaptor which works well. The unit is well made. You will not be dissappointed!!

I love the NDS! I have both a DS and a PSP and I must say I far prefer the DS. The console itself is easy to hold and fits snugly into your pocket. The 'book' shape of it also means you don't have to worry about scratching the screen, which I find reasuring. There are many great games for the DS, including Zelda, Mario Kart and New Super Mario Bros, all AAA titles. For casual gamers this is perfect as well, eg Nintendogs and Dr Kawashima's Brain Trainig.

219.The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GBC) from: Nintendo

Video Games : The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX (GBC)
Zelda: Links Awakening, is an excellent game considering the year the original was made and the DX version adds a lot of missed qualities than in the Game Boy version.

It was the first GB game which I got(5-6 years ago!) and to this day I still play on it!!!
Set in Koholint Island(Slightly different to most of the more recent games as they are set in Hyrule), a mysterious world full of beasts and it is a world where anything can happen.
Soon you have to find special instruments in order to get off the island and return to reality.

Overall a great game and it lasts a lifetime almost literally and recommended to all Zelda fans if you like the kind of graphics found in Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages and A Link to the Past.

Okay, they took the good bits from Pimin 1, and rebalanced it, added new bits and made it a lot longer.

It takes elements of a real time strategy game, but to label it just as an RTS seems... unfair. It is loads more.

The game is cutesy violent, and well polished. Little things like the evil wasp things rubbish it's hands with mallace while wandering around a map... the new perspective on our own world from a very small perspective.

If I had kids, it would be one of those games I could play with them and keep the controller moving between us. It is real family entertainment - and a socialable game. People whom watch are compelled to warn you of danger, or laugh at some of the rich dynamics in the game. For instance, there's a big red bug that rolls ... Read More:
