71.PSone Console from: Sony

Video Games : PSone Console
I loved the PS (the chunky one). It was a revolutionary console, bring ing gaming into the 3D - so untill we find 4d, no console has a chance of juming as larger barrier (still true 15 years from its release).

This was the first home console I owned, and it served me well. Don't bothere buying one now - just go for a 6th era console if you want cheap thrills. I got a copy (just for sentimental purposes) for £2 (or the £1.78 change I had left) at a local market. For me, it marks a simpler time - before I moved on to 6th era and eventually PC (the best platform) gaming.

72.Crash Bandicoot 3 - Platinum (PS) from: Sony Computer Entertainment UK

Video Games : Crash Bandicoot 3 - Platinum (PS)
As the title says, it's the least enjoyable of the PSone Crash games although thats nothing to be ashamed of and it still clearly warrants a 5 star rating. The Wumpa Bazooka is a great idea, the Motorcycle levels however are not. This is the easiest Crash (except the stupid Motorcycle) levels, but it still has longevity and is definitely worth purchasing if you haven't played it before. Naughty Dog just don't fail to disappoint.

73.Resident Evil 2 (PS) from: Avalon Interactive

Video Games : Resident Evil 2 (PS)
Resident Evil 2 is so good that I recently played through it three times in one sitting (one of the few benefits of unemployment is the abundance of free time). From the opening FMVs and that first awesome section dashing through Raccoon City ("the next thing I knew, the entire city was infested with zombies") through to the Police Headquarters, cavernous sewers and the then-traditional laboratory-set ending, this game exudes quality through and through.

While some were put off by it, the Resident Evil control system was in my mind perfect, and only improved upon in Resident Evil 4 (which much of contemporary gaming owes A LOT to). The soundtrack is incredible, with each and every scene scored with the perfect blend of atmosphere and action, ... Read More:

74.Spyro The Dragon - Platinum (PS) from: Sony Computer Entertainment UK
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Video Games : Spyro The Dragon - Platinum (PS)
This is one of those great games I remember growing up with, along with Crash Bandicoot and the lesser known Warner Bros. Sheep Raider game. It's not too challenging, and isn't the most adult of games, but not all games need to leave you screaming in frustration. It's a heck of a lot of fun for all ages and it is by far one of the best games of the era. Unlike other classics of the era like Final Fantasy and Resident Evil, it's one that everyone will enjoy. Respect the Dragon!

Video Games : metal gear solid ps1
Well, at least I thought I was revisiting a classic. Inspired by the events of Guns Of The Patriots (don't worry, no spoilers here), I decided to pop in the old 2-discer for a bit of reminiscence, before catching on after about ten minutes that I knew the intricacies of the game all too well, going as far to predict Snake's hardly-gaming-history first meeting with Mei Ling word for word. See, after finishing this game some 32 times, I'm confident I know it better than I know my mum.

No game, except maybe the sequel, Sons Of Liberty, has ever had me coming back for more as often as Metal Gear Solid. Even the excellent latest offerings don't have the same pull on me. And despite the fact that it is effectively rendered obsolete by later improvements in ... Read More:

This game is very boring, i bought the game and took it back to the shop the next week. Mario Kart is such a better game, which i do recommend to anyone.

I prefer the strategy-builder games like SimCity and Civilisation, and so I get a lot of fun from this version. You basically get to be God (in fact the mayor) and you start building your ideal community. Naturally it takes a bit of skill to find a viable combination of key elements (e.g. housing, industry and commerce) otherwise your community just goes bankrupt and dies away. I tend to enjoy just playing the early periods, and the next time I just start all over again. I love trying out different approaches to positioning housing and commerce together and putting industry in isolated areas, but I think the key is to optimise planning (and in particular commuting time) for the period in which you find yourself, and not to be afraid to change quite radically your planning ... nascar 08 was the first nascar game to arrive on next gen-and it was good, but nascar 09 takes all that was good on nascar 08 and improves on it as follows:
better graphics
better handling/playability
excellent and challenging career mode
better car customisation and set up options
it does aid your enjoyment if you follow and understand nascar-racing in a full 43 car field on these various(mostly oval)tracks is great fun and very challenging, nascar may not be as big in the uk as formula 1(though the fan base is growing)but it is 10 times more entertaining to watch and to play-this game is a true 5 star classic!!

79.Silent Hill Platinum (PS) from: Konami

Video Games : Silent Hill Platinum (PS)
Despite this game being quite a few years old now it still the best in the series. Each time I play this game it never fails to entertain. The atomsphere is dark and heavy. Not forgetting the awsome soundtrack that oozes fear. A town full of fog, snow and monsters set this game apart from other 'survival horror' games. The characters are well developed and there is a pleasent depth to the plot of silent hill, which falls into place nicely at the end of the game. With five endings to play for this is a game worth playing again. A well deserved five stars.

This is a excellent educational tool for preschoolers and adults wishing to hone their vocabulary - and a great TV-alternative.

Words have to be recognized and formed from a wall of letters that get refreshed as you progress. Target-words offer extra points whereas, repeatedly forming easy small words is "punished" with the appearance of burning letter-tiles that, if let to reach the bottom, end the game.

This is a perfect example of what has come to be known as Casual Gaming. It would be a good idea to download the 60-min trial version from a site, such as REFLEXIVE (you can Google it), and decide for yourself whether this is indeed your cup of tea.

Anybody can make a good game that will run only on a super-computer. This is an example of pure programming ... Read More:
