Firstly, a lot of people are moaning about Windows Vista but Vista has no problems for myself. The only 1 peice of hardware that I own which doesn't work on Vista is a K-World DVB-T tv tuner. Vista runs very smoothly even under load.

Secondly, Halo 2 is very much a slightly better looking Halo except the gameplay is slightly worse. This game suffers the same as Halo, its overhyped by Xbox users because they're not used to such "high end" graphics. PC Gamers will find this game okay looking, even when new. Same with Halo, it was an okay looking game but both are very plain with little detail.

There's no replay value, it's very linear, the storyline is very good

Multiplayer is better than singleplayer but ... Read More:

I am quite frankly amazed that there are people who don't like this. The story is superb, keeping you hooked throughout. The only story that you could compare it to would be that of the legendary Baldur's Gate 2, and we all know how good that was.

Do not be put off by the occasional person moaning about bugs and the like. I personally have never experienced a major bug with either this or the original game, and any potential bugs have been significantly ironed out with the latest patches.

Finally, I would also recommend you get this simply so you can access even more of the community material. There are some simply fantastic modules out there, and you won't want to miss out on them. My only gripe with this and the original ... Read More:

This pack offers incredible value for money but I assume will only appeal to those who wish to revel in nostalgia. The pack offers 100s of hours of gameplay and, although the graphics on the older games is nowhere near the standard of modern games, they are still great fun to play.

Just to set the record straight, there are patches to resolve all the issues that I am aware of. Visit the cncworld website for free downloads.

I've had this game for a week and have it running on a PC with windows XP SP3 and using a Logitech Formula Force EX wheel.
Installing the game turned out not to be easy as installation failed a number of times. Although the graphics are quite good the game is virtually unplayable. No matter how I configure the controller and the car, the latter is pretty much uncontrollable and wanders about all over the track. Perhaps if you use an Xbox controller it might work better. If you're into pure racing games I doubt you will enjoy this very much. It's by far the worst example I have ever come across.

This game differs a lot from it's predecessors. As an example, a lot of the game modes from the previous Unreal Tournaments have been simply thrown out which spoils the fun a bit in my opinion. Cutting out game modes like Invasion really dissapointed me when I first ran the game. That being said, the introduction of a different plot made me interested at first. After time though, the fun seemed to wash away as playing the same games on slighty different maps killing the same people over and over gets a little repetitive. Sure. it's great fun for one-offs like if you're bored and looking to kill half an hour but I can't recommend it for constant playing. What happened to Invasion? Sheesh.

I may be the first to admit, but having played through the entireity of both Black + White games I found that although it has it's flaws BW2 really grew on me with time.

OK, so the actual gameplay was disappointingly short, but once you've completed it you can really appreciate the other things. The BEAUTIFULLY crafted landscapes. The sensual + brilliant soundtrack score. The pleasure of watching a villager progress from infant, to adult, to the retirement home.

Lionhead games have never really been about 'completing the game', they were about appreciating the little things along the way, but if you are the sought of person who blitzes through games just to get to the end then this isn't the sought of game for you.

Superb 4X strategy game from Stardock, who continue to improve it and who also host a thriving player community.

Be warned, this is a specific compilation of Dark Avatar and Twilight of Arnor and doesn't include the original campaign from the first release of GalCiv 2., however that's no real loss as the original game was fundamentally changed with patches to make it better but the campaign got a little borked in the process. What's offered by way of the two expansions is all you really need.

No multiplayer but brilliant singleplayer experience.

This is an enjoyable, story driven wargame, it does, however, have it's problems and I'd like to highlight these first.

1. The initially released game is a bit buggy, but this was resolved by downloading the latest +300Mb patch. So apart from the normal moan about publishers releasing games before they are properly polished not a problem.

2. The 2 campaigns are a bit short, not yet tried the multiplayer.

3. There's a lot of loading time between scenarios.

But now to the good things:

1. A comptetent battle simulator, it reminded me of a spruced up 'Dark Omen', which is good. The simulator is not as good as the total war games but very enjoyable.

2. The warhammer setting, you know exactly what you ... Read More:

Video Games : The Witcher (PC DVD)
I really wanted to like The Witcher, but it took a lot of effort. I bought the game in April, and had to pick it up again a few times - only finishing it five months later. The game isn't too demanding on your PC - although it can slow when you have a *lot* on the screen (this really only happens a few times) - but the downside of this is that it looks a lot like Neverwinter Nights 2 (same graphics engine), which is a bit dated today.

Annoyingly, the enormous spells, combat, potions, oils and bombs-based RPG doesn't come with a printed manual - it's on pdf. Cheap old game manufacturers, eh? It kind of spoils the game, and you end up making a lot of notes, but it'd be really nice to have something to refer back to.

Overall, the setting is nicely dystopian. Medieval ... Read More:
