I bought several city maps for a recent first time 7 day sightseeing trip to DC (not wanting to risk the trip being spoiled by lack of a good map to get us around). This was the one we ended up using all the time. It was clear, convenient and easy to use. On one side is a street map covering almost the whole of the District of Columbia area with a street index. It seemed cover everywhere you might want to go, or feel safe enough to go, as a tourist. On the other side, among other delights (a useful chart of visitor attraction opening times for example), in one corner, so you don't have to unfold the map to find it, is a very clear detailed street map of the central area from Capitol Hill as far as Georgetown, with all the ... As a regular user of Rough Guides this was a disappointment - the text is interesting enough, but the content doesn't match with the title; calling it the Rough Guide to Pacific Northwest/subtitle Oregon, Washington, Southern British Columbia is misleading because it covers only the western parts of the first two states, and Southern British Columbia seems to the writers to be Vancouver Island and Vancouver. Not what I'd hoped for, they should change the title NOW, or warn customers what the book really contains. First time I've felt cheated!
