We all knew that the reasons for us to enter into war with Iraq were based on falsehoods and lies, but now we have someone who has had the courage to prove we were right all along.

I disagree with people (including my own father-in-law) that Scott McClellan is a traitor. Yes, he is going to make millions from this book but so what? We, the public, deserve to have someone tell us the truth, and who better than the White House's own press secretary?

People who will not read this book (and I am talking about the republican religious right who put Bush into power) should not be allowed to have an opinion about it. Stop your obstinence and overcome your fears, and go read it! The truth will set you free.

I first heard (or read, rather) about Flynn while browsing on Amazon. I found this book in a used book store and decided to give it a try. I was thinking maybe it would be overly patriotic and flag waving, and it's certainly no doubt that Flynn's loyalty is with Israel when it comes to the middle east, but it didn't make the novel less enjoyable.

Becuase ejoyable it is. Flynn combines great action with political intrigue and despite being almost 550 pages (in paperback) the pace never slows down . The book has good characters but there's not really any character development. Mitch Rapp is a good hero and I wouldn't mind reading more of Flynn's books. Recommended

After assassinating three powerful and corrupt politicians, a paramilitary group demands that the U.S. president and congress reform the government or face more deaths. In the mix is freshman congressman and former marine Michael O'Rourke who correctly guesses the identity of the group's leaders and tries to stop them. This political thriller has violence and some strong language.

The Second novel in Carries Supernatural series and one that now that we've been introduced properly in book one, really doesn't pull any punches as the tale unwinds. Elements that were floating round in the first novel come back to haunt this second allowing for a bigger picture as well as allowing us to explore the world further.

Idealistic, entertaining and above all a pleasurable way to burn up sometime I'd recommend that you get a bottle of your favourite drink in as you're going to have a hard time putting this novel down. Great stuff.

I bought this as a stocking filler for my son when he was 12. He thought it was very amusing, because of the language, but it also prompted discussion over how things were then, and how they have changed. Provides a more lively insight into the effect of war in England, such as beer being weaker than in peacetime, and the price of whiskey going up to $[...] a bottle!

At his request, I have now ordered other books in the series: the American Guide to Australia and the British Serviceman in France, along with the Home Guard Manual.

Back in '96 I deployed my first Lonely Planet in the Pacific Northwest United States. Later that same year I had a meeting in Washington DC and managed a whirlwind tour of the monuments around the National Mall and a very short visit to the Air and Space Museum. I was so knocked out I swore I'd go back, and when I finally did I was equipped with the obligatory LP.

This book, in fact, helped me cover more ground than I could reasonably have expected in two days. This timetable unfortunately prohibited any experimentation with the beguiling night attractions described - maybe next time! - but it helped me do justice to the splendour of the Mall at last, and to find my way round efficiently (also aided, I will admit, by MapEasy's excellent ...
