Having used many brands of projector in my work, this is fully equal in picture quality to far more expensive SVGA models (and frankly for most purposes SVGA is all you need). It is a bit plasticky and flimsy and I don't think would stand up to heavy use or much moving around, but it's outstanding value for money.

We bought the DV11 projector after reading the other reviews on Amazon and discussing it with Optoma. It is great value for money - half the price of all other projectors we considered. From approximately 6ft away we can project onto calico coloured wallpaper and the picture quality is great with a widescreen size of approximately 6ft by 3ft. A surround sound system is not required in a 12ft by 12ft room but a subwoofer enhances the home cinema experience. I've had this projector since January and have been very pleased with it. The image quality is good and the brightness and contrast ratios are amazing, especially for a budget model. You do get a little of the DLP rainbow effect on some images, I especially noticed it when watching a black and white film, but it is rare and not normally a problem. Switching the projector on in a dark room, once it has warmed up, you are virtually blinded by the brightness of the Acer logo it initially shows. I have used the projector in a number of locations including well lit rooms with a good amount of daylight and have never had a problem viewing the image. The projector is very easy to set up.
