This is a really easy product to set up. The wizard works well and detects your connection very quickly. The router is quick and although the wireless is the not the best thst i've seen, it is still very good.

This product is also very good if your adsl line has a low SNR rating (this will result is drops in connections on most modems, google SNR if your unsure what this is) however, i can easily get 8mbps without any drops on this modem. Something my orange livebox and 3 other modems could not do.

read the reviews, mostly good so went for it, made the right choice. I have had this router for about a month and it has been no problem. From taking it out of the box it took no more than 10 minutes to be up and running, very easy to set up. I am no computer geek but I had no problem setting it up and have never had a wireless router before, i`ve only just got a laptop...5 stars from me..

This connected easily to my router which is in the upstairs bedroom when encryption is turned off on the router. when i turn on encryption, wether wep or wap, it doesn't connect.

For a tenner it has excellent signal strength and doesn't drop the connection. The authentication issues might have something to do with my wireless seimens router so i can't put it down to this adapter.

Excellent buy none-the-less

I bought this item to use with Ubuntu 8.04. My existing linksys usb lan adapter didn't always work very well and would sometimes take 20mins to get online.

This little gem worked straight out of the box without loading any drivers. In short it is fully compatible with Ubuntu. As a bonus it will also extend the range of your equipment. The signal strength registered about twice as strong as my previous linksys.
It is also very cheap. So if you are having hardware problems with your linux box wireless lan then this may turn out to be a very economic lifesaver ,no more fiddling with ndiswrapper etc.

By the way it also works very well with windows.

The ports are very close together, making it more suitable for connecting four USB cables than the devices themselves. Unfortunately, that's as good as it gets in my experience. I've had four of them - two from Amazon directly and two from a Marketplace seller (both very good about replacements and refunds). ALL FOUR HAVE FAILED!

I'd avoid this one like the plague.

As someone else has mentioned, this works perfectly for syncing with my mobile phone (a Nokia 6500 slide), but was sent in far too big a box for such a small item.

Received this today, plugged it in, was recongised as a "new device" and installed itself. Then simply plugged in a webcam, iPod, scanner and Blackberry. Possibly this overloaded it a tad as the scanner did not seem to kick in (I noted previous reviews about power consumption - you can buy separately an external power supply to connect to the device if you wish), however when I removed the Blackberry I could scan, transfer files to the iPod and watch myself on the webcam. Highly unlikely that I would use more than 2 devices at the same time so it does exactly what I want it to, i.e. save me having to relentlesly unplug and re-plug in devices to my USB ports.

Would have liked a longer cable (only a couple of centimeters) but considering ... Read More:

Bought one of these despite all the bad reviews and my gamble paid off. Bearing in mind other peoples installation hassles i firstly installed it using the supplied software and unsurprisingly it didn't work. So i simply set it up using Windows wireless network wizard-inputting the required information manually and it immediatly worked perfectly. i think thats the problem most people are having- that they didn't let Windows recognise the new hardware properly before they gave up. Absolutely nothing wrong with this piece of kit!!
