I am very impressed with the Sony NR10E laptop. After a bit of research I quickly came to the conclusion that I had to get a VAIO pc as I may be using the machine for music. There was also the question of build quality and reliability which Sony are well known for. I ordered this, my first laptop, from Amazon/Logical Solutions. First impressions out of the box were the really nice silver finish and its lightness, even including the battery pack. The keyboard has a comfortable but positive feel and responds quickly and the screen is above average laptop quality, with a nice clear finish and is easy on the eyes for text. Using this laptop as a desktop replacement and it is near perfect! Vista and other preloaded software does not do justice to it's spec but I have got XP on it and the 3GB RAM and Turion TL-60 processor do shine here. Very slim compared to other 17" laptops out there which means it's very easy to carry it around if you find the need to. Build quality is very good and speakers are better than most laptops I have seen and used, very good battery life too. Overall, this laptop will not dissappoint.

I ordered this laptop for my wife on the 1st November 2007- it lasted seven months before it became increasingly unreliable and finally gave up the ghost completely mid- May. Acer customer help is useless, they do not supply a recovery disc with the system. The recovery software resides on a 10GB partition on the hard disc- which had become corrupt- the dreaded 'BOOTMGR not present' message- seems to be common with Vista systems. I stupidly upgraded the memory early on in an attempt to make the computer run at a decent speed instead of a 386 with a limp!- that was a mistake, it invalidates the warranty. Moral of the story is DO NOT BY ACER unless it comes with a Vista recovery disc- you cannot rely on the 10GB partition as a recovery option. Nearly ... Read More:

This is a highly competent laptop. The ergonomics are excellent and it really looks stylish with a glossy but durable finish - the inside having an alloy look while the piano black exterior features a "swirl pattern" which adds style and interest. The screen, keyboard and pressure pad are excellent whilst the Altec Lansing sound system is very good by laptop standards. Battery life is a good average. In terms of performance it is fast and the 2GB of RAM and Core 2 T5450 processor give it plenty of punch that is needed to drive Windows Vista Home Premium. It is a feature laden too with 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, built in Bluetooth, Lightscribe disc labelling, a high-res webcam, mics and a rather handy little remote. i bought this laptop after searching and comparing many websites and other laptops on amazon and for the price this one looked the best. i would highly recommend this, it is packed full of games and gadgets and it is damn shiney. having never used vista before i was sceptical but it is fairly easy to use for novices like me. the scrolling bit on the touch pad in a nice feature. overall it is a really nice laptop, has everything you need for work, play and enough memory and spec to store all your stuff and run with no problems. 9/10

Have had this item for about a year. Slight problem when the pen developed a fault but sorted in an exemplary manner. Trust may provide low cost products but the quality and support is second to none. Strongly recommended.
