This product does not work as promised. Placed beside a radio it gives a weak, noisy signal. Cannot use it in my car, there is no signal, not even if I place the Belkin on the carroof beside the antenna !!! Do not use money ons this.

The radio is unusably bad, so I've clicked through their site and got a returns number. Apart from that it's a great concept, only lacking in a sleep function so I can't fall asleep to the radio without leaving the thing on all night. If you don't need a radio, it's a pretty good, drag'n'drop item. Who knows, maybe yours will work!

I've had my 16GB for a day now and have been fiddling around with its settings and listening to a variety of music. The sound is definitely the best I've heard from an mp3 player, and the superb earphones that come with it definitely play a big part in that. I'd recommend editing the custom EQ to increase the 3rd and 5th bars - this results in a much crisper sound than the default flat setting. The volume goes about twice the limit of AVLS by the way, so very loud then. My only real complaint is that there's a pause between each track unless you're playing WAV files (which are far too big). Sony, do us a favour and release a firmware update to rectify that please!

i know this is double the size, but i have to say that the 1Gb version is useless. I had it for one month before the thing gave up the ghost. useless piece of junk

I've had it for about a month and so far very pleased with it. Lots of functionality for such a small item. Very easy to use. As well as the play/menu/volume buttons on the side the whole front panel forms a forward back up down control for menu and track navigation. Its really easy to drag and drop files on to it, just plug into any PC (I have used it with xp and vista) and its recognised as a storage device, no need to load the software that comes with it. The player recognises the mp3s artist/title info but you can also set up a directory structure if you want. You can then navigate tracks using either their Artist/Title tags or using your directory structure, very useful if you have files without tags. Build quality seems pretty ... Read More:

I actually paid £4 for this then it went down to £2 the day after, it's a pointless piece of kit. The skin covers everything apart from the screen, what the fr*g is the point of that? You cannot even use the scroll wheel when it is on. Don't waste your money!

If you have a 1GB Apple shuffle you will know how great these are, I have just upgraded to a 2GB simply because I had filled my 1GB and was having to delete songs to fit new ones on. Once you are set up with itunes importing your fav tracks from your cds is extremely easy as is deleting songs you get fed up with. I haven't actually downloaded from the itunes site as I have so many cds anyway . I use mine with sony headphones and with any cheap ones I have and the sound quality is excellent in either case. I did treat myself to a seperate sony ipod charger so i am not tied to charging on the computer. If I was buying a shuffle for the first time I would choose a 2GB if I could afford it as like me you would probably end up upgrading sooner or later.
