I loved it when I bought it, and for about 6 months it was the best £200 I'd ever spent, but then it started to go wrong, the battery would give up the ghost after about 20 minutes of video playback and if I tried to put it on shuffle it would get to about the 4th song and pack up completely and have to be reset. I contacted apple and they told me to update the settings and restore it to its original factory setup (deleting everything I had on it, which was quite annoying). I then made do with it as all I really do is play it at work and in the car but two days ago it completely blew up, the screen died, it would no longer update (the file is corrupt and unreadable, apparantly), and it also erased my hard drive. I've had my On Time since July 2007 and of course read the reviews. The radio does work on any station(just read the instructions), you don't have to listen to the same song on your ipod each morning; just change the shuffle setting, the display is a bit bright but not that bad.My only gripe is you cannot set the volume when the alarm goes off as it steadily increases!!It can be very annoying.JBL are aware of this and don't see it as a problem - I do.

This my first MP3 player after falling asleep on my personal CD player and doing it no good at all. I expected the build and sound quality of a Sony to be first class and I wasn't disappointed although I did invest in some Phillips Superior Sound headphones to make the best of it. Like others, I found the capacity a bit disappointing at only 250 tracks and the shuffle doesn't shuffle as it should. Overall I'm delighted with both the player and Amazon's usual superb service.

I've had this piece of kit for 6 months now and must accept that this gadget is addictive to say least! be in mobile entertainment or home-theatre entertainment (use the dock with my projector) it fits in very well, unmatched in quality and features. The display is 'crystal' and the projected images are sufficiently sharp upto 2m diagonal. There are a few shortcomings however, esp the bulk of the hard drive and the usability as the interface isn't really finger friendly. I'd wish that it had the fluidity of the iPOD touch but having owned an AV, a Gen 4 and now a 5 , I have to admit that Archos are making a good effort in making their PVPs more usable.

I got this for my birthday a month ago and I have absolutely fallen in love with it. It is multipurpose- plays songs, has four great games, calender, clocks for all over the world, photos, contacts, stopwatch, and notes. The sound quality is really good and the provided headphones are stylish and just wonderful. DO NOT BE DECIEVED by the picture. The colour is no way near as tinny or horrible as it seems. It is a really beautiful, electric blue that you will fall in love with. There is one bad thing- it scratches very easily- but only the scratches on the white parts actually show up. Like some kind of crazy fool I thought I,d buy 2 zen vision players (1 for whole albums, 1 for favourite tracks ) .They where so impressive at first I bought a z500 playdock too . However within 14 months both where what can best be described as useless. As useless as trying to get them fixed via the company and their equally abject website. Our 5 year has just purchased herself one of these. We have had trouble getting our pc to accept it but the laptop with vista recognised it straight away. Our 5 year old has found it easy to use and the clip means she can't drop it, though we have had to change the earphones to headphones as they do not stay in her ears. All round a cracking bit of kit,would reccomend.

Worked perfectly, first time. If you make sure that you download the latest firmware version from the website (currently 1.19) and put it onto the micro SD card, you should have no worries. I'm using it with a 4GB micro SDHC card with no issues at all. Comes in a little box with a CDROM. Instructions are on the CDROM. It's the must have DS accessory.

I have owned 3 Archos PMP units now and bought this one due to its attractive price and really portable size with flash memory. My impression of the sound quality is excellent. The sound is 'warmer' than an Ipod nano (which I own I am not an Ipod hater!). The video performance whilst not as good as the Archos 605 is still very good and near DVD quality. I have now watched a couple of full length movies with no eyesight problems! Although the flash memory is small at 2GB it is very cheaply upgradeable and I have currently a 4GB SD card installed. I would agree with other reviewers buying the plug-ins is a pain but it is a well known issue on the internet, at least customers have the option.
