Using with a Mac PC running OSX 10.5.2 I found this to be excellent and far in front of others at the price. I have now scanned some 1,000 slides using the simple preview method at 600 DPI and am fully satisfied. A special few of my slides had been transferred from the old 2 1/4" square transparencies taken in 1948 and were in very bad condition. The Plustek and software dealt with all the rough stuff and a tweak with Photoshop and they were amazing. I damaged the install disc and received a new one from Germany in 3 days free of charge. So excellent after sales too.

The two stars are for drivers and support. The printer itself seems to be OK once you get it working. From bitter experience, if you are planning to use Vista on a locally-connected P2015, you will fail unless you do EXACTLY as I say below. (valid as of October 2008; things may change in the future): 1. Place the CD that comes in the box under your coffee cup. It has no other use. 2. Do Not call HP tech support. Their representatives are apparently trained to be evasive about Vista support, and they will give you wrong information about choosing and installing drivers. They will also tell you to ignore everything you read on the HP Web site about Vista compatibility, which (astoundingly) is sound advice. 3. Download the ... Read More:

I bought this printer a couple of weeks ago, with some ink (ink was pricey, hence 4 stars). So far it has been great, it prints really quickly, although I only use it for lecture slides at the moment, have yet to print anything too colourful as I don't have the right paper for doing so! Hasn't thrown up any faults or anything, and the scanner is pretty good, done a few photo scans with it and they seem to come out well. Not bad value, there also seem to be plenty of features on it that I haven't got round to using yet! For the casual user, I'm sure it's perfectly good enough, I think a lot of bad reviews come from people trying to use a fairly low budget printer industrially, which they aren't ... Read More:

Well a question not a comment. How do you think this would work on small (old) photos, small negs etc.? I am fed up buying things said to do what I need them to do, only to find that they don't! I have photos from 1940's that are no way standard and something like this might just do the trick, even if it wasn't exactly designed for it.
