Quality sound, excellent output quality, good range of options, simple user controls. Quality both in terms of design and sound are above what Creative offer. What could be wrong with this sound card? Well unfortunately, a few aspects marr an otherwise very good buy. Firstly, it may be Auzentech just using the Creative X-Fi chip, but the drivers are straight from Creative. This entails two problems. The various drivers that I've used so far have been buggy, leading to blue-screens, which is never a good thing. That loses the product one star. Secondly, the driver process now not only requires user registration and driver activation, but, to quote their site 'The key can be used for a limited number of driver activations'. In other ... Don't believe the other reviewer. I also have Windows XP and my pc never crashed since i 've been using this device. The sound quality is quite satisfying and you won't find a cheaper price for a 7.1 pci sound card. The only problem is that it doesn't have an integrated decoder for the digital output.
