This item came with my laptop very long ago. The body of it is very well designed for the bottom of the laptop, however the fans are quiet which is mostly good, but the speed to breeze the laptop however is low. Very ineffective to doing its job. Hopefully in future the company will go back to the drawing board, and sort the low speed out. I do like the design of it, just not what the power comes with.

I bought this to connect up my digital camcorder to my laptop in order to transfer the video across and it works perfectly.

The product is perhaps not of the very best quality, but at the price it is a very good investment, if only as a short-term measure.

not only are the instructions next to useless. this does not work with multifuncion printers - i was told by belkin 3 hours after opening the packet.

"we did have a switch that used to work, but it had too many problems, so we discontinued it"

marvellous. worst product ever. dont waste your bandwith looking at it.

76.USB 2.0 4 Port Mains Powered Hub
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Computer : USB 2.0 4 Port Mains Powered Hub

This device is advertised as a USB 2.0 hub. When I plug in USB 2 devices, Windows alerts that the newly attached device can run faster and that I should plug the device into a fast USB 2 socket.

This makes me think this device is "USB 2 Compatible" i.e. it will plug into a USB 2 socket but the actual unit only provides USB 1 connectivity for any devices attached. Avoid this nasty second-rate hardware it will not give you 4 fast USB ports - it will give you 4 old USB 1.1 ports which are useless for high speed peripherals.

I brought cable based on the earlier reviews and am delighted with its use. The cable is long enough to reach from the printer to my laptop, I had no issues, WinXp recognised an external USB device, I did not need any drivers, you have to configure and tell WinXP to use a USB port for the printer and what printer it is and you're done in a matter of minutes. I have had no errors since and I print large documents as a home worker and since its USB I can disconnect and plug into my Wifes PC. The cable supports all operating systems, is bidirectional, has USB on one end and centronics-36 parallel port connectort on the other and requires no external power.

I bought one of these when I moved from PS/2 mouse and keyboard to a Logitech cordless desktop setup (one USB cable instead of 2 PS/2).

I use it to switch between a laptop docking station and a regular workstation, sharing the cordless keyboard/mouse between the two. The docking station is a standard Dell D/Dock, hardly an unusual piece of kit.

The problem is that the Flip *will not work at all* when plugged directly into the docking station USB ports. Belkin technical support were prompt to answer the phone, but inaccurate: they told me that unfortunately there were issues with using USB KVM switches in general, and the flip in particular, with docking stations and that it wouldn't work.

This isn't strictly ... Read More:

The item information here on Amazon and the item description on the manufaturers website state that it has a FEMALE serial connector - it doesn't! They appear to have changed item spec's and it now ships with a male serial connector and NO adaptor in the pack. Be sure this is what you want before ordering.

Minor note: the included driver, needed for Windows XP use, ships on a mini-CD and these CDs should NOT be used in certain slot-loading optical drives - better to download the current driver from Targus's website.
