Lens is excellent - service provided by the seller Allcam first rate let down only by the staggering incompetence of the delivery courier Citylink who managed to attempt to deliver to the wrong address twice in succession.

Now e-commerce is a fantastic retail development but it depends on the reliability of the carrier. This one, Citylink in Northern Ireland should be avoided at all costs - they are eyewateringly inept and their customer service is a disgrace. By all means buy online folks but avoid this courier service like the plague!

When the shutter is open it is lens the does the work. So it is never an idea to skimp on investing in good lenses. It is hard to believe that a 11x zoom could be a good lens. But it is. Let me qualify that - it is a great lens for what it is designed for i.e. an ideal one-size-fits-all travel lens. It takes the place of at least two, possibly three lens in your camera bag.
Optically it is categorically not a top flight Nikon lens - for best results use software such as DXO in your work flow that can correct for the distortion and boost contrast. The long end is a little soft and there is visible chromatic aberration at the edges - all can be corrected in software. At the shortest end there is noticeable distortion - again correctable. ... My mother recently decided to dabble in the digital camera field, and after a bit of deliberation vs the Canon A720IS, she decided to go for this Nikon P50.

I use a Nikon D40 for anything serious and I find in general, the menu system and layout of their cameras is unbeatable. My sister uses a Canon EOS400D and begs to differ. It seems Canon, Sony, Nikon, Olympus etc. take just as good pictures at the same price-bracket; the digital camera market has reached a point where even the cheaper brand name cameras can still capture some great shots for the average eye. As such, when I recommended the Nikon P50/P60, my sister recommended the Canon A720IS.

For my mother's purposes all she required was an easy-to use point-and-shoot, ... Read More:

This Nikon SB-800 Speedlight was purchased to be used with a D300 D-SLR.

Although not the most powerful flashgun available on the market it's however, powerful enough and extremely well built and it's manual is very comprehensive and I'm still digesting all of it's content.

As with all of today's camera/flashgun manufacturers, whose products work effortlessly together, Nikon products are no exception. You get various auto modes such as I-TTL, AA etc. depending on your camera type, together with full manual mode when desired. It comes with a case, stand, soft light diffuser, gel kit and the extra battery attachment so a fifth battery can be use which reduces it's recharge time but strangely, no batteries. I'm currently using ... Read More:

Having been delighted with a Nikon Coolpix 3100 for the last 4 years my brother and I decided to upgrade to a new Coolpix when the battery compartment cover started to break on the old camera. We thought that we would stick with the trusted Coolpix brand, so went for the S210.

However we could not have been more disappointed. Having taken nearly 200 pictures each, and having tried various settings and scene modes, we both discovered that the wonderful crispness of the pictures on our old Coolpix was sadly lacking on this new model. In the majority of pictures the focusing was only crisp in the centre of the picture. As you moved to the outside of the pics you got increased blur - and that was with the vibration reduction switched ON and even on static ... Read More:

Having already owned a Tamron 70-300 I discovered that that range was my most popular shot. I love the sniping shots. This Nikon lens is amazing and the VR makes all the difference! Hold down the shutter button and you can feel it cut in and notice suddenly the image through the viewfinder is very still!
I have no problems with the quality of the results. I have heard that its at its sharpest between 170 and 270mm though but I have yet to try that.
Its a little heavy for me as I do a lot of walking and its rather longer that the Tamron so I had to get a new camera bag but Im more than pleased with it.

I read the reviews and thought - can they be as good as everyone says? But at the price, and having always rated Pentax for cameras - it seemed a total bargain, so I went for it. I have to say that they are absolutely brilliant little binoculars, pocket sized (well for the pocket on a Barbour), easy to use and set up and with excellent optics. I only want them for general use - like cricket, occasional horse racing and casual bird watching on holiday - and they are exactly what is needed.

Thanks to the two previous reviewers who convinced me to go for them
