Photo : Powerstorm LP-E5 Battery For Canon EOS 450D

I ordered one of these batteries and had it delivered very quickly by registered mail from UK Dig. Unfortunately it was faulty in that when put into the original charger from Canon the red light came on and then went out again in about five seconds. Canon's own battery charged just fine.

I emailed UK Dig concerning their returns policy and was quickly advised to post it back to them for a refund or replacement. I sent it back to them by registered mail on the Monday and had the replacement in my hand on the Wednesday of the same week! The replacement seems to work just fine.

All in all the company sent me a duff unit first time round but rectified that extremely quickly. In that respect I'd say that the service was ... Read More:

I bought these Eneloops for my wireless bluetooth Apple mighty mouse and keyboard. I found that regular rechargeable batteries would lose their charge after a week through self discharge before the keyboard and mouse had even a chance of using a fraction of the rechargeable batteries capacity. I didn't like the idea of going through a mountain of alkalines and lucked upon discovering the Eneloops which folks were using to power their Wii remotes. £20 is a lot for 8 batteries but because these actually hold their charge there are no wasted recharge cycles. Typically a rechargeable battery has 500 recharge cycles. They come pre-charged and lose the first 20% of their capacity fairly quickly. The remaining 80% self discharges very slowly ... Read More:

These batteries look like great value (currently £1.99), but only because the shipping charges are outrageous (£4.50 per pack). After you've factored in shipping, you're likely to be able to find them cheaper elsewhere, especially if you're buying a few packs.

Because of the shrouding around the lens/flash, I have found it impossible to use the camera in close macro mode without getting a large shadow on the bottom left half of the photo. You will need the external strobe if you want to take pictures close up, more expense & unnecessary complication than I had with the F700.
