i only recieved my camcorder yesterday and i already know how to use all of its functions. i was looking at buying this or the dcr-sr210 but im glad i saved myself the extra £100 by getting this one. both the sound and picture quality is exellent and for a 1 meg still shot the result is impressive. the only negative thing is the software included, i installed it then uninstalled it an hour later, its rubbish. i found that windows movie maker is much more user friendly. battery included is a little poor but i dont think any camara comes with a good one. all in all exellent value for money

Be aware if you want to edit footage on a computer, it doesn't come a firewire cable or software CD. I tried to phone Samsung for help and they promised four times to phone me back with a solution, but they never did.

This little gem is cheaper than the much-hyped Flip Video, but does the same job better. I returned a Flip Video as the provided software kept crashing. No such probs with Busbi hardware or software. It too has a flip out USB plug for easy file transfer into your PC USB2 port. If you are looking for HD, then you will be disappointed, (and should see your counselor for help finding your common sense ...) but I find playback entirely adequate on the HQ setting using full screen on a PC. You can easily import the AVI generated files into Windows Movie Maker, or, use the provided software. If I was to gripe, I'd like more than the basic 2x zoom, and the viewing screen can get overwhelmed in bright sunlight (hence 4 star rating), but otherwise, portability ... Read More:

Much better video quality than anticipated.
Controls could be more user friendly.
Battery life a bit short but quick charge system. Advise to buy at least a second battery.
Not great video in dimmer lighting.
Would recommend it for all round family use. Good value product.

First - excellent delivery. Ordered Friday, delivered Monday morning.
First impressions are excellent. Video quality is super - indoors as well as outside, but I need to try low light. And still photos are good as well. I am using HD video and 5mpixels - the default settings. The 3x optical zoom works smoothly - even while filming (despite other reviews) Playback through my 1080p LCD was super, using the supplied composite video cable. The little remote control made this easy to manage and can make the thing record and take stills as well - handy if mounted on a tripod. Playback using Media Player didn't work, despite installing the codec from the supplied CD. But both QuickTime and RealPlayer worked well, with QT being a bit smoother. It charges from the ... Its small, light and tough, just what I was looking for. Simple to use, uses mpeg2 format (actually creates .mod files but these can simply be renamed to .mpg and they play straight away when played back on my Archos 605wifi media player).

This means I can take the camcorder on my hols and copy movies to my Archos as I go - saves having to buy several SDHC cards. It's a shame Panasonic does not include an SDHC card with the device - it can't be used without one so where's the sense in that?!

I did quite a bit of research before buying this product (I actually bought a HF100 which is identical apart from the lack of built-in memory) and was very encouraged by all of the glowing reviews, all of which seemed to say that this is the best of the bunch of current consumer HD camcorders. My experience with the product has largely confirmed these verdicts. The camera is compact, a joy to handle, and produces pretty good results in almost all circumstances, except low light conditions.

The only significant downside is that the battery life with the standard battery is less than ideal. When fully charged it promises about 60mins of usage, but this is reduced by using the standby facility to more like 40mins or so of active filming. I would recommend ... Read More:

The camcorder itself is amazing in quality and great for editing, if you do that kind of a thing. Now all I need is a High Definition TV.

Having taken still pictures on the camcorder too, the quality is really really good.

The 60GB hard drive is ample unless you need hours and hours of footage, (I think it's limit is 15 hours on 60GB). It may be an idea to get a separate SD card to separate the still images from the video footage on the harddrive or worth getting in case your hard drive becomes full before you've had the chance to transfer it onto your home computer.

The 10x optical zoom could have been better and although the 700x digital is a brilliant gimmick to impress the friends and family, you'll obviously lose a lot of quality ... Read More:
