This is a fantastic little camera at a great price. I got this to share with my wife as both are cameras had finally bit the dust. I usually had larger slr-bridge cameras so thought a small one would make a nice change for taking out and about. It takes great pictures, is very tough and has a nice selection of presets. I have not used the manual setting much as all the automatic presets cover a wide range of scenes. I think the only people that will be disappointed with this are those that have not given it much time. If you learn how the menus work and where all the scene presets are it really is a great little camera.

Got mine as an xmas gift as we were expecting our son at the time. rarely took photo's before but thought we would take loads once the baby was born, which we have. Love it. easy to use. lots of nice easy functions to takes more creative photo's if you fancy.

I have had three compact Fujis and have been very pleased with them. Not so with this one. The colours were distorted, especially in reduced lighting, such as inside a church. I returned the camera to Camera Box and after a very annoying two months was relieved to receive a refund. I would not deal with Camera Box again.

I am a fan of sony products and recently bought this model after getting hassled from my wife to buy one, as her sister had the older model which did seem to work very well. I liked the look of it and the multi face detection aspect really attracted me to it. I researched and opted for the DSC-H50 but i was really dissapointed. It's not been sent back! My main gripe is that i can't get a good photo every time, which i could most of the time on my other camera. I was continuously seeing 'processing' on screen as the camera tried to process tha large 9MB jpeg images, so rapid shots were not an option. Originally, I had hoped to buy a digital SLR. I went to Jessops to some research and the assistant told me £300 for the lens I wanted, and £500 for the camera body! Way too rich. Then he showed me the S8100. This is such a versatile camera. It does almost anything an SLR can within the limitations of its lens. I wanted a camera that allowed me close ups. It does macro to 1cm. I have taken some amazing shots of a dragonfly, bees, hoverflies, flowers etc. I have taken shots at full zoom (18x) without a tripod and the results have been excellent. I also wanted a camera that could take rapid pictures. My previous camera was so slow, that by the time it took the picture, the action was gone. I got this camera for Christmas and loved everything about it...got some quality macro shots and fits in your pocket nicely so good to take everywhere. Sadly after 6 months the dial wouldn't stick on video mode and amazon said they couldn't replace as they had none in stock (although it showed stock online just at twice the price) and couldn't repair it. I now regret not taking it elsewhere to get it fixed as it is a great camera apart from that 1 issue...I'm now trying to find it for a reasonable price elsewhere.

As a typical 11 year old girl I opted for this camera just because it was pink and was not disappointed. It is so easy to use and yet the photo quality is breath-taking. It does everything that you need it to do. It's many modes allow photos to be just how you want them. The movie quality is fantastic and I love it how you can personalize it right to the last detail. It's large screen is great and ables you to see your photo clearly. When I bought it, on the label it said anti-blur technology. I thought this was just a bribe but when I tried to photograph my dog (who CANNOT sit still and is continuously fidgeting) it really didn't blur! It is very cheap as it is a GREAT camera (and bargain!) I would definately recommend this for anyone whether you're a novice ... Read More:
