I got my T2 on friday (2 days ago) and i love it. style it's smaller than I expected which is a good thing. On sunday I had a shirt on rather than a tshirt and I kept the camera in the shirt pocket all day. Consequently I took about 40 snaps I wouldn't ordinarily have done. I can be carried in a pocket without looking strange! But I would recommend getting a small case either the sony soft case, tamrac neo 3 or crusher PP40 - I've opted for the sony because I'm sad! (don't forget to look at the other companied esp. those who make trendy phone cases - this camera is so small it will fit in those ones) It is simple, minimalistic and strangely tactile; I can't help opening the shutter cover on it. Dissapointed with the quality of photos. Comparing the 1010 to its previous model, 840 - there was a big difference in quality of photos. 1010 was blurry around the edges and 840 was crisp. This is the disadvantage of having all the extra's packed into a compact camera- however, you would think that Olympus make the newer model atleast of the same quality. Fine for regular photos, but as soon as you want to do some cropping and blowing photos to larger sizes, sacrifice quality a great deal. I find the 840 the better option, or even sharper photos are produced by Casio. Can't comment on other brands of camera's, as I haven't used them as yet. I would recommend you try it out in the shop first, and make a decision.

This camera is the lightest and smallest camera I have owned so far. It has features I find very useful, for example the shoot and choose function is great for shooting action shots. It will easily fit in a largish shirt's lapel pocket. It starts up quickly for those moments when you need a camera bit quick. I have only given it 3 stars though because the picture quality is only average. It may be 8 megapixel but I think I was achieving better pictures with my Canon a70 3.2 megapixel camera 5 years back or more. There is considerable noise in most pictures. Colour leakage around things and lndscape pictures seem a little flat. But if you want a well made, lightweight camera at a reasonable price you'd do well to consider this.

Have just got the Ixus 870 IS and am very pleased with it.The choice is a difficult one with several competitive options.The 28mm wide angle was important to me and the very good video quality and sound - in fact the video is so good that I'll use it on lots of occasions I'd have used the camcorder because its that good.The operating manual is huge and shows the large number of options you can have in the way pics are taken but I suspect most of us bung it on 'auto' which copes well with 90% of the the average shots.I can see my SLR being used even less as these compacts progress.As far as technical assessment goes of colour balance,sharpness,etc in my view all the leading makes provide good performance which is acceptable to the vast majority of users.A ... I have had this camera for well over a year and bought it to keep in my handbag as our 'cheap' camera. However it has far surpassed its original intention and is the best camera we have ever owned and a bit of a bargain! Its easy to use, with a large LCD screen and great image results. Many friends have been out and bought one on seeing the photographs and the nice looking camera it came from. I can't commend it highly enough.

I bought this camera 3 weeks ago and have taken about 500 images in all light conditions with very good results. I have owned a Fuji Finepix 410 for 4 years which still takes super quality pics, but when I saw this little beauty I just had to have it for the size alone! Smart, slim, easy to use and very elegant to look at, it's perfect for that night out with friends at a ball or dinner party. Software included is excellent and easy to set up complete with printing instructions. Images are v. good on the high quality settings and with a 512 MB picture card you get 250 plus images at 8M pixels. The usual great value too from Amazon.

I saw the adverts on tv and knew what a great camera it would be. If your someone like myself who drops and breaks everything this camera is for you. Excellent for taking to the beach being dustproof, and the underwater capabilities are amazing. Easy to charge, recommend buying the biggest memory card (2GB?) as you don't want to have to sacrifice any older pictures. Comes with a little bag to keep it nicely tucked away and clean. Perfect camera producing amazing picture quality!

I really do! My sister gave me her old Fujifilm camera when she got this one (in a different colour) and it was like a brick- so naturally I wanted one like hers, and I'm so glad I bought it. Best £100 I've spent in ages. The camera takes a fantastic picture, and uses software that locates faces and modifies the light around them to improve picture quality and remove red eye. The finish is great- it's polished and feels smooth in your hands. The camera turns on by sliding open the lens and the whole thing is as easy to use as that.
