The image quality of film and especially this film is still far better than digital in most circumstances this is ESPECIALLY true in the compact market, where a good compact camera with a half decent lens can make an image that is greatly superior to that of a digital compact. Bought this for my D300 as the nice little infrared remote that worked with my D40 does not work with Nikons more expensive DSLRs. The unit is well made and comes with a nice Nikon carry case (quite difficult to make it fit back in so take a good look at how it fits BEFORE you pull it all out!) Easy to fit to camera and very easy to use. Easily performs over the stated distance and because there is no physical contact with the camera you can get pin sharp pictures when used on a tripod. The camera receiver can be twisted to any position so you can "fire" the camera from behind/front/side (something you cannot do with the smaller remotes on the D40 etc. as the receiver is fitted to the front face of the camera itself.
