A good effort - from my limited experience of Bond books, I can't really tell this apart from one. The plot is interesting and perilous and goes places bond never went before (e.g. the Soviet Union and Persia). It also has all most of the ingredients in the right proportions (girls, guns & glamour), which make for a good action adventure, without lapsing into cliche.

A word on the narrator. Jeremy Northam isn't as good as Rufus Sewell is on the other Bond audio books, but is clear and slightly edgy which make for a well spoken and not dull voice, even if it is not overly brimming with character at times...

My one criticism is that the text is a little crude at various points, which I know the Bond books can be, ... Read More:

i decided to get the new James Bond book (Devil May Care)& it is quite good & i then thought about getting the old original Ian Fleming Bond books as i love the movie's & the books tend to be better than the films, & to get all the books in one for £35 is great value, i had a look on Amazon & you can get the books as single items but with P&P on them they work out more expensive that way, get this item instead as they come in a nice box.

Please dont let him write another. Great Britain has the worlds greatest authors.
Anthony Horowitz; Alex Rider, Jason Steed, Ravens Gate, Necropolis.
Joe Craig: Jimmy Coates.
Robert Muchamore: Cherub.
All three authors have proved themselves as being the best teen spy writers not only in the country but the world.
Joe Craig who brought us Jimmy Coates is also the couson of James Bond Actor Daniel Crag.
Yet we have comedian Charlie Higson and part time author writing the young adventures of the great fictional character in the world.

By Royal Command is slows. and has James out of character, fleeing the country. The chapters are slow and boring in places.
When the wolrd is reading books by Anthony ... Read More:

Dr Blockbuster got a signed copy when Ben MacIntyre was at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in August. The title says it all ... a beautiful blend of Ian Fleming and James Bond, containing enlightening background and many interesting facts, unknown EVEN to Dr Blockbuster! Merde!

Travelled almost 400 miles to see Sir Roger and get the book signed at Waterstones in Castle Street, Norwich, then queued for around 2 hours where we were given raffle tickets to get in. The first 200 were guaranteed, and only 300 would be done. After being handed a set of ''rules" namely no pictures, no dedications, no talking, virtually no nothing we were regimented through the store and got all of what, 15 seconds whilst Sir Roger quickly scribbled and then onto the next without so much as looking up at us and roughly treated by the staff at Waterstones, Norwich. Pretty disappointing really as I had seen George Lazenby and he spent time chatting with you. The book is a good read, easy to get through - I'd read through the chapters on the Saint and the ... The book is divided into chapters from all the locations they shoot Quantum of Solace....
Even more enjoyable after you have seen the film...And the price is just too low for a book like this. It's my favourite coffee table book so far!!!

Overall, a good soundtrack, with nice references back to Casino Royale. But, where on earth is the end credits music? It's missing. Shame on Sony, as this was great.

Bond has been given time off from Eton after the adventures in `Double or Die'. He has been sent with his Aunt to Mexico to get some much needed R&R. This being Bond means that action is never far away. When Bond is left with Captain Stone and his two spoilt children, Precious and JJ, he expects a month of boredom and frustration. However, this is far from the case as a group of attackers enter the house during a storm and try to kidnap the children. James, Precious and JJ must get away from the kidnapper s and find help. These are stone cold killers and if Bond and co. do not get away they will be led to a deadly island where no one ever leaves.

Having read all of Charlie Higson's `Young Bond' novels I have to say that `Hurricane Gold' is by far the ... Read More:

I've just finished reading this book, and just have to let people who care for HP (my friends are not fans) know what I think. Before I give my own review of this book I just want to say that I am a huge harry potter fan, to the extent that I actually have a deathly hallows tattoo on my bottom. I'm also quite ill right now, but I fought against my horrid cold to read this book.

I've been really excited about this book coming out, as I too wanted another fix of harry potter. I was delighted when my book came with that familiar harry potter scent to the pages. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed at how quickly I got through the book.

I want to stress that I did enjoy the book, however I do have some criticisms that I'm sure will be torn apart by ... Read More:

Casino Royale is a novel that is very much 'of its time', specifically the late 1950's, and must viewed from that perspective. Criticising it for outdated cultural or social attitudes, or for simply being old fashioned would be the equivalent of criticising Dickens, Austen, the Brontes or Christie for the same supposed failing. Yes, Ian Fleming demonstrates through his writing attitudes that would be unacceptable in contemporary society, especially when it comes to women, but right or wrong they were attitudes that were very much the norm when the book was written. Dismissing Casino Royale simply for expressing outdated views would be like dismissing Oliver Twist for stereotyping 19th Century East End Jews.

Casino Royale should instead be reviewed based on whether ... Read More:
