this book drags on and on without actually going anywhere, and was incredibly boring, around 600 pages are about finding something to eat and getting a sword. suddenly roran has become as powerful as eragon (the book gives no reason) and can kill 200 men with only a hammer while everyone else stands around chatting. this book is not the last in the series and doesn't add anything really so avoid it and buy the next one (the conclusion)if you like this series. you wont have missed anything

I hate to give bad reviews, but my son and I were pretty disappointed with Superior Saturday. I've read all the series to him as bedtime reading, and we enjoyed them all so far. I don't know what happened with this one. The plot never really took off - are we supposed to get excited about tightening screws in a giant office building? Just when we thought something interesting might be about to happen, the book ended. I guess people who've come this far with the series will read it, and I will still read the final instalment to my son, but we do feel cheated by this obvious filler book.

Please dont let him write another. Great Britain has the worlds greatest authors.
Anthony Horowitz; Alex Rider, Jason Steed, Ravens Gate, Necropolis.
Joe Craig: Jimmy Coates.
Robert Muchamore: Cherub.
All three authors have proved themselves as being the best teen spy writers not only in the country but the world.
Joe Craig who brought us Jimmy Coates is also the couson of James Bond Actor Daniel Crag.
Yet we have comedian Charlie Higson and part time author writing the young adventures of the great fictional character in the world.

By Royal Command is slows. and has James out of character, fleeing the country. The chapters are slow and boring in places.
When the wolrd is reading books by Anthony Horowitz ... Read More:

Keep it simple, keep it fast and keep it jokey: Perfect entertainment for the mid-teens (and older).

I've enjoyed all the Artemis Fowl novels to date - and this latest, Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony, is no exception.

For those not in the know, Artemis is a teenage genius with a penchant for crime, and a big - very BIG - minder called Butler. He's been annoying the hell out of the fairy kingdom for years, although, having saved each other from disaster more than once, they have the sort of a love-hate relationship neither side would admit to: Holly, ex-LEPrecon (the fairy police), is his principle contact and Foley (the centaur) the technical wizardry supplier - oh, and there is a singularly repulsive character called Mulch, the perfect manifestation ... First of all I have to say that I love Discworld. I knew Nation was not a Discworld book, but it's a Prachett book and I thought it was worth a try.
And I was right. This is not Discwold, and, after reading it I wonder why does Pratchett lose his time writin Discworld when he can create such a wonderful book...
It's a story abot what makes us human, about love (not only to a person, but to your whole nation), about the nature of gods...
Read it, it will amaze you

I've just finished reading this book, and just have to let people who care for HP (my friends are not fans) know what I think. Before I give my own review of this book I just want to say that I am a huge harry potter fan, to the extent that I actually have a deathly hallows tattoo on my bottom. I'm also quite ill right now, but I fought against my horrid cold to read this book.

I've been really excited about this book coming out, as I too wanted another fix of harry potter. I was delighted when my book came with that familiar harry potter scent to the pages. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed at how quickly I got through the book.

I want to stress that I did enjoy the book, however I do have some criticisms that I'm sure will be torn apart by fellow fans, but I have ... Read More:

Its different to Twilight, Alex Rider and Jason Steed, but its still a great book. I would not over recommend it, I have just started reading Jimmy Coates they are in the same class as Alex Rider, Jason steed and twilight, this is good but has tough competition.

Well, firstly to say... Thank God this series just got more interesting! Even though Darren Shan is probably my all time favourite author with the Darren Shan Saga, admittedly the last couple of books from the Demonata saga had lost that certain...edge. Rather than admiring the wonderful masterwork of the tradition Shan writing, the last few books had left me with a slightly more bitter taste in my mouth. Not to say the least that they weren't interesting, they were brilliant! (Just not as good as the others).

Now, this new book, Wolf Island has to be one of the best in the series thus far. I thought the storyline was brilliant with the new introduction of a different side to the 'good guys' as we saw them to be and also the development of the main characters (I especially enjoyed the ... Read More:

...And maybe the best one at that too. Colfer's writing is always a joy to read, his innovative sci-fi/fantasy blend presenting a fantastic backdrop for amazing characters. Artemis and Holly as a duo have been the true stars of the show since i read the first book years ago and i'm so glad to see the series is still going strong in this book. Mulch and Butler are of course fantastic in the comedic element they provide.

In The Opal Deception we also see the return of Opal Koboi. A fascinating villain, she represents a fair match for Artemis's amazing intelligence and as they bounce tricks and plans off each other we get a action-packed, tense thriller of a novel that i whipped through - a proper page turner!
