great value for money at the price that I picked it up for. Not sure about the humour but if you can see past this then well worth a read. If like me you're trying to a bit more than just a point and click shooter then this will give you some good, and easily accessible, tips.

Not many secrets here, thats just a sales come on. Some usefull beginners info but sadly let down by the appalling print quality, this is a PHOTOGRAPHY book you know, the quality of the images should be much better than this!! May appeal if you want to be a 'shooter' too!

I cannot emphasise enough how well this book sets out the basics of DSLR photography. I am on my first DSLR and to be honest knew nothing about aperture, shutter speed and ISO and how the 3 interelate. This book sets these out so clearly that the layman can understand. Been wondering how/when to use the P, M, A or S buttons on your camera ?, This explains it perfectly, and gives nice glossy examples of a scene when you would use f/4 vs f/22. I also have the David Busch book to "replace" the manual, but this far exceeds what you can learn from that. Both good books in their own right.

This is the second Photoshop CS3 book I have purchase by Scott Kelby I bought the 7 point system for Adobe Photoshop CS3 on the strength of how good the previous Adobe Photoshop CS3 Book for Digital Photographers. The thing about this book it makes you want to take better photos. Whether you have a top of the range SLR or a point and shoot this step by step guides to creating great photos is so addictive. This book drums into you head the steps you need to create great photos. For me it made me look through the view finder in a different way, Now I know how to make my pictures look better in Photoshop CS3 I want better results from my camera and that means changing the way it look at the shots I am taking. This is brilliant book on design and composition taking the reader on a tour through graphic elements, colour, contrasts etc. A lot of photography, but independent of technology: It's not the camera that takes the photo, it's the photographer. And this book introduces the reader to all the decisions a photographer makes, whether concious or not, when taking the photo. The word "digital" should be dropped from the title, only four pages discuss techniques particular to digital photography, and then not. This makes the book perfect for any one with a desire to improve their photographic skills - or eyes.

After reading some of the previous reviews, I thought I would buy this book as surely some of the comments about the humour being awful must've been exaggerated!? Well, sadly not - the humour is truly awful. But don't let this put you off - the book in itself is amazing. I read it cover to cover in one sitting and had to get up to try all the techniques, despite it being way past my bedtime. I find the book easy to follow, the techniques are brilliant and will have anyone making the most of CS3 in no time! Highly recommended. (although I would agree that while the book tells you "how", it will not give you understanding of "why")

Sandisk Extreme III 4GB CF Card Shipping: arrived via free delivery earlier than expected. Condition: all advertised items present and all in perfect condition, fully sealed. Performance: used twice since receiving and been very happy. 1. Wedding shoot. Used in conjunction with other 2GB cards. Shot on this card last and fired 183 hassle free RAW files. 2. Model shoot. 3 days after the wedding. Shot 245 RAW files and didn't skip a beat. Overall: Excellent. It does what it says on the box - 5 Stars

I've used Photoshop for a number of years now, and even teach it on a regular basis, but this book blew me away! It wasn't so much that all the information in it was new to me (though a lot was), but the way that Matt explains things is fantastic! I think I managed to get as far as about page 10 before I went "wow, that's brilliant!". Highly recommended. Thanks Matt!

Very dissapointed with Amazon this is an absolute con. As other reviews say this is an over priced leaflet. My opinion of Amazon has changed for the worse.

This is an awesome card without a doubt! But beware as mine didn't come with a 'dinky little card reader' as reading some of these reviews you might expect (i.e. previous 20MBPS version did come with case, reader & software) this confusion for me totally defeated the point of buying it for use as a fast memory stick which is expandable - doh! Regardless it is still an amazing card and the latest formula 1 edition too :) NOTE: PLAY still offer the previous version with the benefits for the same price so its a matter of how fast you wanna go ;)
