If you love reading to your child, do not miss this book. It is a delightful, humourous,dream-like surreal book, with a repetitive, poetic, chanting story. It is (deservedly) a children's classic. Many reviewers here have tried to break down the different elements of this book. I bought the book for a present after reading all the great reviews. Found the story rather strange. And the ending that the woman dies is odd. Maybe that's English humour I don't get. The graphics are lovely though. I bought the hardbook and there was no CD, maybe hearing the song helps to enjoy the story more.

My little girl has been interested in these types of books from the age of 2 months (she also has a pets one) when she became fascinated by the pictures. She is now 4.5 months and still loves to look at the pictures (with a few sound effects from mum or dad!) or just grab the book and scrunch it up (it makes a crinkly noise) and put it in her mouth! It's very light so she can move it around easily. These kind of books aren't expensive and I reckon they're well worth the money.

My one year old son loves this book to the point where I'm demented. NEVER have I had to read a book so often. I thought he was a bit too young for it but one of his first words was NOAH! He loves all the animals and the different members of Noah's family. The colours and shapes have made it easy for him to learn his animals. My copy is more than a bit chewed and dog eared I am sure a new copy with be required soon. I would totally recommend this book but only if you don't mind reading the same book over and over.

This is a wonderful CD for babies - and parents ! Doctors should prescribe this to soothe babies to sleep. After trying many different techniques to get our 11 month old daughter to sleep ( I am not a fan of letting babies "cry it out" ! ) my friend suggested playing some relaxing music. After reading the reviews on Amazon we decided to try this CD. We have used it religiously every night for 3 weeks and every night our daughter has settled into her cot and lay and listened to the music until she falls asleep. We then have the delight of listening to the rest of the CD on the baby monitor. We now play it on random as our daughter is asleep by the 5th or 6th song and it seems a shame she misses out on the rest of the CD ! I only wish we ... Read More:

We bought this for our three-week old when he was two weeks old and he can't get enough of it! He will quite happily lie and stare at the bold, bright images for ages.

We simply refer to this book as 'The Food Bible'. I have used it constantly since starting to wean my daughter. She is now over one and I'm still getting my money's worth out of it. Some of the recipes have become family favourites! Simple, practical recipes which are tasty, what more could you ask. I found I picked about 5 or 6 from each age range and kept cooking batches, adapting to suit what i had in the cupboard, and to my daughters changing tastes. Good practical advice and a great starting point for weaning and cooking for a family.

My son is only 5 months, but he loves looking at this book even if he doesn't understand the "story" yet - there are lots of bright colours and things to see in the pictures. I can see him enjoying it more and more as he gets older as we discuss the content of the pictures (people, animals, clowns, magicians...) My only problem is to stop my son from eating the book! The CD is a great bonus.

Bought this CD after reading the positive reviews and I'm really glad I did. Our 2-year-old girl loves it and despite playing it over and over again we haven't got fed up with it, which is praise indeed! Disagree with the reviewer who didn't like the male vocalist's voice. I think it's a pleasant change to hear an English accent with perfect diction. Great opening track which gets our daughter dancing and our feet tapping immediately!

I got this for my baby - she loves it. Even when she was tiny, she liked poking at the tactile bits and now at 9 months she's even more keen. Great item. Relaxing enough for bedtime, fun enough for calming the nerves (of both of us!)
