Great one for the spiritual sceptics , stick with it there is something for everyone in here . Personally reccomended to a few friends something in here for everyone but if your reading it you probably dont need it , if your in doubt go check out the "is that so" chapter at the book store

Practicing the Power of Now is a handy companion to Eckhart's wildly popular The Power of Now. Essentially, Practicing the Power of Now contains the same information as in the first book. However, I have to say that I prefer this format. The first book was written in a question answer format. These questions came from the author's students. He also included amalgamated questions that covered a variety of common queries. These question and answer sessions gradually took the reader from common perception through to an understanding of the illusions that we generally accept as real and the importance of the present moment. This is a joy to listen to. Eckhart certainly knows the essence of all the key spiritual messages that have been passed down over the centuries and puts them in his own non-dogmatic, modern, clear way. I have studied spiritual, religious and mystical writings for over twenty years - and this sums them all up.

It's a co-incide-ence that 'seven' years into my career as a success coach I came across this, the wisest book that I have ever read. Normally when a book says you will want to read it again and again you take that comment with a pinch of salt. I read the original book three times, then the handbook and now I continually play the wonderful CD and DVD. With every experience a new learning flows through me. Those studying the likes of the secret law of attraction, the four agreements and the power of now, should read this book to find an even more moving, powerful and yet practical way to live a life of joy, love and inner peace. In my 8 years of spiritual studies studies I can't believe I'm only just reading this book...I was inspired by the Neale Donald Walsch, conversations with god books (the theory is the same as this) but only decided to read this because I kept noticing other authors I love, such as Doreen Virtue and Louise L Hay, were quoting from this book like it was the 'law'...This book is course to rid (maybe not rid but help you to understand and control) you of your ego and retrain your mind to listen to the loving guidance of the voice that was given to you by god..Then once you have healed yourself, you are invited to help others to 'heal themselves'. Truly eye opening stuff, if the genesis in the bible deals with the "why" (as is the case with religion) then this is the history behind it. An all encompassing history of the world that'll make you see things in a new light, how sad and messed up humans have become, and what needs to happen to save our race. Very compelling read, though sometimes it dips a little too much into the spiritual side of things and may come across as biased rather than pure research. They should make this compulsory reading at schools instead of nonsense such as creation theory.

This was an inspiring read. The Four Agreements are beautiful, fresh, and uplifting concepts that one can easily integrate immediately. Ruiz believes we need not stay addicted to beliefs that limit us, nor should we strive for perfection, but always do our best. While reading this profound yet simple book, I recognized beliefs I had adopted since childhood that were based in fear, not in reality. Being free of these limiting ideas allows me to live fully and joyously in the present. I whole heartedly agree with the previous reviewers..this book too has profoundly changed my life ! I have read quite a few self help books but Katie I have found is the only one so far that puts things in a real simple and down to earth manner. Not some airy fairy spiritual thing...the only way really for people to gain clarity over their seemingly negative ways is to discover the truth for themselves and this she does so brilliantly. I found The Power Of Now life transforming, this goes even beyond that..for those who still don't quite "get it" with the likes of Tolle, Dwyer, Virtue and so many others, including Law of Attraction books, they should definately give this book a go.
