oh WOW this book was great just glad what i got it when i got the 1st book and book 3 to read one after the other i could not put them down and now i am waiting for the next one they are full of action and you get thinking that you are really living as cassie if you get in to your books like me and can get the pictures in you head as you read. you really get in to it a great book and left me wanting more not looking for all her books

Magical Bites is a magical mercenary-detective type story that takes a bit of determination to get through the first few chapters. Let me explain; it is a tough talking, well written book but the author initially gives little understanding into some of the concepts, terminologies, and character background - so much so that I kept wondering if I'd picked up a sequel and was therefore in the dark for a reason. After I'd persevered through a hundred or so pages, I became a bit more aware of what was going on and began to enjoy the plot. So An Independant woman, nothing wrong with that, apart from the fact that shes one of the few remaining female werecats in the world, and boy do those boys want to breed. she doesnt, doesnt want anything to do with it. understandable.. and this leads to a very interesting set of books.. im awaiting the 3rd book Pride in 2009 to find out the outcome of Faythes strong will not to be forced into anything. verygood book... urban in a sort becuase of the cover of a normal human being, while being a shapeshifter..

This series had had me hooked from the 1st book they keep getting better this is a great book and i cant wait for the next one when it come out. I have even gone and got some other book this author has done she is a great writer that take you with the book as you read it. they are amazing

A good sequal. You would need to have read stray first to gain a full appreciation for this book but its a good book. Faythe is an indering character if only a little annoying at times. Interresting group dynamic which makes me wish i had brothers lol. Trying to keep up with the different characters names can be challenging at times especially when reading the book at half 1 in the morning, but this book was such a page turner i couldnt tear myself away.

After reading "Bites" and getting captivated by both Kate and her magnetic attraction to trouble, I couldn't wait to read Magic Burns. Just to let you know how much fun this book was, I read it in four hours - every word threw itself at me relentlessly and the world just had to wait until I finished. The action in Magic Burns keeps up the pace throughout the book, but not at the expense of plot development or losing touch with the main character, Kate. Kate is a dynamic, strong female character. (Rare these days, as this author hasn't created yet another fantasy-female type with body perfect who yearns to hand over her power and life to a fantasy-male type.) 5 out of 5!! Best vampire comedy fiction I have read in ages. Sookie is likeable as are the other charactors, it's funny, light and enjoyable. Also gripping, definately unputdownable. You must try Charlaine Harris' books

These stories just get better and better. When I reviewed her 5th. novel in this series, I said that that was the best yet. Now Charlaine Harris has gone one better. Her main characters have become more rounded; we understand a little more about Sookie's family background and we are introduced to some extra supes in this book which extend the family of 'strange' people down in Louisiana. The book moves us away from her previous main supernaturals, Eric and Bill, to concentrate further up the vampire hierarchy. As ever, murder, mayhem, Sookie's rather feminine yet gutsy attitude all lead us to riot and carnagefest as a grand finale. For light yet fascinating reading, this is a series I hope will live as long as the vampires!
