These guides have it right, inspiring photos , not too many spots and some key details- sometimes deliberately wrong??? Enough to get you out searching.

The text is great and general info is spot on but to be honest i was disappointed with the book in general because of the pictures. There wasnt much variation in the size and positioning of the pictures(maybe im just used to the superb photography is CARVE magazine) which gave the book a monotonous tone and didnt give you much wow factor. The text is still a great guide and has given me some great plans just isnt presented as well as it could me, but definately still worth your hard earned cash! :)

I've been waiting for a book like this to come along for years and I'm not disappointed by this one. On the contrary, it's got all the best surf spots throughout Europe and Morocco and would be a valuable companion on any trip. It also includes listings for where to stay and eat and even what to do when there's no surf. Highly recommended.

As a previous reviewer has commented, this is basic level stuff. If you're looking for a book with insightful info, programmes to follow and something that can offer more than a high-school gym class in terms of stretches and exercises, this is NOT the book for you. If however, you've never really done much sport before then this is probably a good intro. I don't think it's particularly suited to Surfing per se, and i'd actually recommend a swimming book or something instead. Buy at your own risk!

after surfing for many years i have a fair knowledge of weather and how waves are created but this book really helped me take a step up in my understanding. Easy to understand and a must buy for anyone interested in wave creation.

A great read and the perfect guide for the professional or amatuer. If your planning a road trip or just fancy a change from your local break then I can highly recommend this guide. We spent two weeks travelling GB and found loads of spots we'd never heard of. It's also nice to support a fellow female surfer. Have also bought the european guide which we plan to use this autumn, will let you know how we get on!

I only watched this recenty and I really loved this film.....just captures the progression and danger of surfing at the highest level. I am not a surfer and I don't think you really have to be into it to appreciate this film at all...it's shot nicely and the documentary style with interviews makes it flow nicely.

No way near as in depth as the European Stormrider, but it's crammed with loads of beautiful photos and serves as a good jump off point to start your surfari from...

A very entertaining read. The book gives a great insight into travelling and reaching personal goals whether you're a surfer or not.

Billabong Odyssey is one of the best, most brilliantly filmed big wave moview of all time. Not only is it genuinely tense and at some points (the end scene big wave surf contest is nail biting!!) it also deals with the future evolution of tow in surfing. The wave riding performances are astounding. The only problem with this film, is the second DVD, which contains average shortboarding footage at low resolution. BUY IT for the big wave scenes made via helicopter.
