Just the most uninspiring guide book I have ever seen. The description is just inaccurate. It is a small little book - there is no detail at all just short descriptions. The photography is really poor - the print is cheap so the images are washed out. When I bought it I didn't pick up that it was a Thomas Cook book or I wouldn't have got it, it is one of those freebie books thrown in with package holidays. I just feel cross inside. Luckily there is loads of stuff online about Puglia. It says there are maps inside - as if - there are tiny maps with the main roads and a few towns marked. You are seriously better off looking online or getting a hold of the Dorling Kindersly Italy book and using their very short chapter on Puglia - which is still ... Read More:

This is a good guide book, as all the guide books in the series, but I did expect a bit more from it. I travelled around Italy together with my husband the summer of 2005, and we used this guide book a lot. But it is a guide book, nothing more. There are quite a bit of things that have changed since the book was last edited, but this is expected. We are planning to send the findings we did to the editor, so that it can be added or changed in the next edition, perhaps. We felt that the book focused too much on churches, castles etc, and a lot of really interesting things were missed - like the local food markets, which we love to visit. Being a beginner in Italian I have bought other books which are difficult to get in to. However this book is excellent and the cassettes which accompany them are fantastic. They give you the chance to repeat what is said in dialogues and are very good.

This is an amazing item, I have tried many diferent techniques to learn Italian and this is by far the best. I really do encourage you to buy this you won't regret it. The voices used are really good as well, they saying everything clearly allowing you to understand quicker. The music is also an added bonus it allows the words to stick in your brain faster, and makes the experience alot more enjoyable. With this product its not a matter of having to use it, but you want to use it. Fantastic.
