I purchased this volume for a trip with a school party (GCSE & A level) that included the Musée d'Orsay and the Louvre. The book, although weighty, is ideally shaped to live in a handbag, manbag, or even a roomy pocket (although in that case, get the Louvre one as well and balance yourself so as not to look like Quasimodo...). The pictures are clear, the notes are superb, and I certainly wouldn't have been without it. Hundreds of pictures, hundreds of pages. All for £7 or so. Brilliant.

This is without doubt a must have book. The photographs are breathtaking and the narrative supports them well. This is a unique insight into some of the more private areas of the Vatican as well as some of the more well known. It is now a few years since its publication, but that doesnt detract from its impact. Go, read and be inspired!

Thanks to the BBC and Amazon for this wonderful DVD release. DVD's from Amazon UK "always" seem to reach us here in Java Indonesia on the other side of the world. We have been waiting over a month for four DVD's from the US Amazon (Amazon.com)however Amazon UK discs arrive within days not weeks thanks to the UK Royal Post no doubt.I'm told that Amazon in the US sends DVD's to Indonesia via DPGM (most likely Deutsche Post) We've viewed Count Francesco's beautiful tour through his beloved Italy and will soon join Francesco on the Mediterranean Voyage.
