As noted by previous reviewer - which sadly I did not read when I ordered the book - this is just "Tailoring: A Step-by-step Guide to Creating Beautiful Customised Garments" in a different cover. Good book (in either cover!) but poor marketing me thinks!!!

This book is very instructive to all types of people for example fat men, tall men and young men, obviously you may mix and match from different sections, for example young, tall and fat. There is absolutely no mention of baseball caps, thank god. The writer discusses suitable patters for suits (Prince of Wales among others) types and colours of shoes the reader may wear, certainly not a blue pair.

A beautiful book well thought out and illustrated. If you buy the book for it's pictures alone you'll not be disappointed. I would agree with a previous reviewer that it's not 100% on the money for the English reader, a bit too American in focus. Other than that a first rate book and very interesting even if ,like me, you're a bit of a slob!

Tailoring: A Step-by-step Guide to Creating Beautiful Customised JACKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although this is a very thorough book, it does only look at how to tailor a jacket, so do not think you get step by step instructions for everything.

However, it does have some very useful information, with photos of every stage.

BUT another point to have is that it does not tell you how to draw up your own pattern block, rather it just tells you how to adapt a pre-brought pattern instead. Useful but not what i was particularily after.

All in all a rather useful book for a first time jacket maker, giving you the hard and the easy option on things (always useful to have!). Alittle dated looking now, but still worth the ... Read More:

The book gives a concise and fascinating guide to the history and varieties of English dress styles. Moreover, it is able deeply point out the classic nature of traditional dress, which does not fail to resound in the hearts of every traditional (if slightly eccentric in some cases) heart.

Although the book does give very helpful details on consistency and possible faux-pas, it does NOT act as a substitute for style or taste. It merely points out possibilities for the self-selecting wearer. If you are looking for what tee-shirts will suit your jeans and trainers, you will not find it here. Thank Goodness!
This having been said, the book fails to mention cravats, and mentions only scanty details of the Peacock Revolution.
