 : Rubik's 4 x 4 Revenge Cube

I started cubing at christmas when i was presented with my first 3x3x3 cube. I was determined to master the thing. Eventually i was able to do it and i'm working hard to get a quick time.
I decided to go for a little harder challenge and so the 4x4x4 was the obvious next step. It was a challenge but knowledge from the 3x3x3 one makes it easier to pick up strategies and techniques. Once you master this the 3x3x3 seems so much more simple. This is deffinutly a good buy for people wanting more then a 3x3x3. But if your just starting out go for the 3x3x3 as you deffinutly need it to understand this one.
5x5x5 here i come!!!

Still a classic. Still great fun. And great value.

The small size is ideal to carry around, though a bit too bulky to be actually used as a keyring, and the keychain gets in the way...I took it off and put it in the metal recycle bin.

After that...great miniature sized cube, easy to fit in a jacket or even trouser pocket. Great to zone out with on long journeys, or as an executive stress toy even...obviously this is once you're actually able to do it - otherwise it most certainly won't REDUCE your stress :D

At this price its the best value. The only reason I took one star off it the keychain - it's unnecessary & just gets in the way. They'd do better to just make the miniature cube & sell it ... Read More:

This is the re-release of the rubiks snake. The basic idea is to make different shapes by twisting the Snake's triangular pieces! This is fun at first, but, it very soon becomes boring. It isn't really a puzzle as there is not a solution. you just make shapes!!

This fell apart within hours of use. Put it back together again a number of times, but its weak plastic mechanisms cracked, rendering it useless. I have rubix cubes that I won at funfairs years ago that still work perfectly fine. Not good enough.

I recently bought this for my six-year old son, who greatly enjoys playing 'Bop It'Bop It Extreme 2, another toy which runs along a similar vein. If you're old enough to remember SIMON, an electronic toy from the early 80s, then you'll be pretty familiar with the types of games that this little toy offers. There are six choices of game, which range from an incremental memory challenge (good), a time-based reaction test (also good), a code-breaking game (not so good - the challenge is to find the correct sequence of the six colours in as few attempts as possible), and a multi-player option for up to six players which involves passing the cube when prompted (not so good - it's a bit too simplistic).

There's no similarity to the Rubik's ... Read More:

This book is great for anyone who has a rubik's cube. Anyone who can do a 3x3 normally can jump to the speedcubing methods, but it also has a beginner method for anyone who doesn't already know it, or does not know how to solve a rubik's cube. This book also has solutions for the other rubik's cubes i.e. 2x2, 4x4 £ 5x5, which I am going to look at.

I am sorry to say that this is not an orignal slinky. It does not do anything like the old classic. I would like my money back.

I originally bought this cube at Argos. At Argos, the packaging is slightly different - it comes in a see-through box - and it was slightly more expensive. However, the cube has now died after fairly heavy use (one of the inner joints snapped), hence the need for a replacement.

The cube comes with a fairly thin "How To" guide which is not particulary easy to follow. The best "How To" Rubik's cube tutorial I have found is by a Swedish guy called Lars Petrus. (I don't think Amazon will let me give a website on this review but it is easy to find). It has extremely clear animations that you can work through interactively and at your own pace and which show you exactly which move you need to make. If you are new to the Rubik's Cube, I think ... Well actually I brought it for my sister, she had fun with them, but she could only do three of the four puzzles, the last one wouldn't even break up. so she gave up (The most complicating looking one). The instructions given showing how to fix them together again were not at all helpful, she said that they were confusing!
