To be totally honest I know absolutely nothing about cameras. I have no interest in them. I have neither the time nor the inclination to wade through mountains of technical data which I probably wouldn't understand anyway. The camera was to be a gift for a friend of mine in India and as it had been rated so highly by Amazon reviewers I decided this well known manufacturer and model would be a pretty safe bet. The thoughtful people at Canon even supply two different plug sizes and so charging the battery abroad presented no problems. After the initial charge my friend was 'up and running' with his new prized possession. Got mine as an xmas gift as we were expecting our son at the time. rarely took photo's before but thought we would take loads once the baby was born, which we have. Love it. easy to use. lots of nice easy functions to takes more creative photo's if you fancy.

What a fantastic camera for the price. Easy to use. Small. Sleek. Clear large screen. Good battery life. Video facility gives excellent results. Memory card too small. Buy larger memory separately. No case, but you can pick one up on e-bay for a fiver!! Would recommend to anyone. Pink version at least £10 less than silver. Who needs silver!!

I have had this camera for well over a year and bought it to keep in my handbag as our 'cheap' camera. However it has far surpassed its original intention and is the best camera we have ever owned and a bit of a bargain! Its easy to use, with a large LCD screen and great image results. Many friends have been out and bought one on seeing the photographs and the nice looking camera it came from. I can't commend it highly enough.

I bought this mainly for diving (along with the appropriate housing). I've only had it a few days and I haven't dived with it yet, but there are some magnificent features, and it knocks my old Fuji for six. First, the LCD screen is 3 inches instead of 2.5. We mathematicians know that means that the area is nearly half again as big, and that makes a big difference at 15m. Second, it is one click to switch from movie mode to "underwater" still mode. The fuji required all sorts of scrolling and messing about. Less specifically about diving, the direct printing is fantastic, as are the cropping features, the slightly gimmicky but very arty facility to shoot B&W except for one colour, the fact that you can trim videos in camera, and that the camera ... £6.34 for this card. 30quid for the same item in Argos. It's a no-brainer really isn't it? As always, no problem with service or delivery from Amazon. I'm chuffed with it. Get one.

Very sturdy and light camera which takes lovely sharp photographs whilst on the move. Fits into my pockets easily with no sharp edges and has a very good quality viewing screen. All the buttons are flush with the casing and it is a joy to use. (Complimented with a Crumpler case in scarlet red)

Lots of reviews on the silver version of this, not so many on the chocolate one. I SAY chocolate, but its more a dark burgundy really. Anyway, it doesn't matter to me, its different and it looks cool. Looks aren't everything though are they? It needs to perform well too. I used to have a digital Ixus400 which I loved and needed something just as good. This is. No, its better. I still haven't experimented with all the features yet, but its taking some lovely pictures so far. Plus points: It looks great.. It takes great photo's without lots of fuss..
