I've actually owned a lot of Norton stuff, and my god do they slow down your computer to a snails pace. It gets in everywhere and screws everything up. If you want a decent Internet Security package, check out Kaspersky, you can download it from their site - much much better. Norton is rubbish.

I bought this laptop as a secondary computer as my Fiance and i would always argue over using the "main" computer as its connected to our TV for a monitor. After searching Amazon for a while i came across this one, at first the name put me off but some rapid "googleing" soon put my mind at ease. I ordered it and 2 days later it arrived in perfect condition. Since then we have had 3 months worth of fantastic performance (for a secondary PC). It is on for around 2-3 hours a day and although the battery isn't great the mains really isnt a problem. The screen is bright and adjustable the sound is OK but would suggest headphones are probably better. Overall i am very happy with it and have absolutely no regrets. A good all rounder!!

I bought it from Sony directly. Am satisfied with its performance and it's good price as well for a sony laptop. The only downside is that it dosen't have any external (hardware) volume control, which i believe is essential for every lapton. Nevermind.

Why pay a rip-off price from Microsoft when there are loads of good free email software programs that are just as good ?

I bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago because, with two teenage kids and an ebay addicted wife, I cannot get access to the desktop PC easily. I wanted a machine that would be quick and good for watching DVDs and basically doing all the things I used to do on the desktop. I am very happy with my purchase. It looks cheap compared to a Sony Viao or a HP, but it performs just as well as a £700 laptop - to me at least. I would recommend this machine to anyone.

I had doubts about whether this would be good because of its low price but I was surprised at its quality. Ad: Good layout. Plenty of space for all cables, mouse, cds and other documents. Fits a 15.4" widescreen well. Pretty hardwearing exterior. Low price. Good amount of padding. Shoulder strap comfortable. Dis: A slightly cluncky look. I would highly recommend this item if you are looking for a functional and durable laptop case.

Hi, bought this as for the money it looked to good to be true, plugged it all in and nothing, it was completely dead. Decided to ring the Acer helpline and they agreed it was dead on arrival and that "This happens quite often" very worrying and suggests that quality control isn't overly effective. So off it went and I bought a lower spec laptop the Toshiba D300 Equium in terms of the games card at least but hey at least it works and it is certainly sporting a better screen, on board speakers and overall build quality. Asked a few tech IT guys at work and they said they had heard similar issues not only with poor quality control but also that after a year some units were failing and had to be replaced/repaired depending upon cover, so just be warned ... Bought this baby to backup heap of music/viseo/etc and had no problems with it so far... didt use the sync software that came with it but just stored it on a seperate folder for possible future use. Runs on my old laptop with cord supplied (single USB) althou did not not work on friedns old computer with USB 1.1. only thing, the capacity of the drive is only 232MB as shown in explorer. Not sure if u format it, u may get full capacity but just one thing that seemed a little bizare... besides that, no real major problems

This is perhaps the most infuriating software I've ever used. Having had problems with earlier editions, I checked out the available books and bought the top choice with the software. I wish I hadn't bothered. Photoshop crashes most times I use it, throws up all sorts of error messages, despite installing it no less than three times. When it does work, the editor takes about five minutes to load, and the whole package is to me totally counter-intuitive. I'm going straight back to Picasa.
